About

Located in the Middle East in the Judean Mountains, Jerusalem is one of the world's most ancient cities. The Old City of Jerusalem alone has an enormous number of sites that are of interest to visitors, many of which are sacred in the Christian, Jewish or Muslim religious traditions. These include the Dome of the Rock, the Tower of David, the Church of the Sepulcher and the Western Wall. In addition to the huge number of historic and religious sites throughout the city, Jerusalem has several museums that help visitors better understand the region, including the Israel Museum. Many different types of international cuisine are available at restaurants in Jerusalem, and there is a lively nightlife as well.

Getting to and from

Ben Gurion Airport is located about 50 km northeast of Jerusalem. There is not a direct bus to Jerusalem, but the #5 goes to El Al Junction where you can then switch to the #947 to the city. You can buy your ticket on the #5 bus. It takes about 45 minutes to get to the city once on the #947. Another option is the Nesher shared taxi service, which is a minibus with 14 seats.
