About
Known as Big D, Dallas is the third-most populous city in Texas. A long-time hub for the oil and cotton industries, the city’s economy has diversified into telecommunications, transportation, finance and health care. Dallas Love Field, situated 6 miles north of downtown, is the closest airport to the city. Travelers can reach the city center from the single terminal by rental car and Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) surface bus, which connects the airport with the nearby DART light rail station. You can also travel through Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport located approximately 26 miles northwest of the central business district. The terminal is connected to the city by the Trinity Railway Express and the DART system Orange Line as well as a network of Texas state and interstate highways.
