About

Located in northern Italy along the Adriatic Sea, Rimini is the capital of the Province of Rimini in the Emilia-Romagna region. It is one of Europe's most popular seaside resorts and is also known as the birthplace of the legendary Italian filmmaker Federico Fellini. There are also a number of Roman ruins, including the Tiberius Bridge, the Augustus Arch and a Roman amphitheater. The main building of interest from the Renaissance era is the Tempio Malatestiano. However, most tourists visit Rimini for its 15 km of beaches. Film buffs will want to visit the Fellini Museum, and the City Museum includes departments devoted to art and architecture. Rimini has a lively nightlife, which includes clubs along the seafront and small taverns, bars and wine cellars around the historic Old Fish Market.

Getting to and from

Federico Fellini International Airport is located about 5 km southeast of Rimini. You can take bus 9 to Rimini. The journey is around 25 minutes. However, many more flights arrive at Bologna Airport. From there, you can take a bus to the railway station, which runs every 15 minutes and takes about 20 minutes, and a train to Rimini, which runs several times per hour and takes around an hour.
