Zadar is located along the Adriatic Sea in Croatia and has been inhabited longer than any other city in the country. It was a part of the Roman Empire, when its basic urban structure was created, and the Roman forum, an aqueduct and a Roman tower remains from those days. There are also remains of the medieval city including a number of churches. A local architect designed a sea organ that is set into the wall of the harbor and includes lights as well as music. There are a number of popular beaches for sunbathing and swimming, and you can also rent a boat to visit the nearby islands. Kornati Islands National Park consists of more than 100 of these islands.Getting to and from Zadar
Zadar Airport is about 9 miles from Zadar. The airport bus runs according to flight schedules and takes around 20-25 minutes to get to the central bus and train station and the Old Town. Taxis are available as well.
