About
Located on the Istrian Peninsula by the Adriatic Sea, Pula is a city with a number of ancient Roman buildings still standing. A popular tourist destination in the summer, it can be an inexpensive place to visit in the off-season even though some places may be closed. The town is small enough that the main sights in the city center can be visited on foot. These include an ancient Roman amphitheatre, the 1st-century Gate of Hercules and two Roman theaters. The buildings in the old quarter date from medieval and Renaissance times. The sea is known for its beauty, and the National Park Brijuni, islands along the coast, are wonderful places for a day trip.Getting to and from Pula
Pula Airport is northeast of Pula, and a bus runs between the airport and the Pula bus station. Udruga Taxi Ližnjan is the only taxi service that has a contract with the airport and can be booked in advance online. A number of rental car companies also operate out of the airport.
