One of New York City's five boroughs, Brooklyn is enormous and diverse, with well over 2.6 million residents. It is made up of many different neighborhoods, and each of them has a different character. Known as a vibrant center for art, Brooklyn has many attractions for visitors, including the New York Aquarium and the amusement park on Coney Island. The Brooklyn Bridge is an iconic sight. The city's third largest museum, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Prospect Park Zoo are both found in Prospect Park. Brooklyn also has many shops, bars and restaurants. The Brooklyn Botanic Garden offers over 50 acres of peace and nature in the midst of all this city bustle.

Getting to and from


• John F. Kennedy Airport is the main airport in the area. You need to take the Jamaica Station AirTrain where you can connect to the New York subway. It takes around 50 minutes to get to northern Brooklyn.

• From LaGuardia, you can take the M60 bus from any terminal to connect to the subway or another bus line depending on where you are going in Brooklyn.

• Both airports also offer taxi, van and car service.
