Located about half an hour from both Orlando and Walt Disney World, Kissimmee is a central Florida town situated along Lake Tohopekaliga with a population of more than 60,000. The town is also near several other Florida theme parks, including Universal Orlando Resort and Legoland, as well as Kennedy Space Center. The Everglades are nearby, and their headwaters, Shingle Creek, run through Kissimmee. Other outdoor attractions include swamp tours, kayaking and canoeing in Shingle Creek, and fishing. Kissimmee's subtropical climate makes for hot, humid summers and mild winters, and its location at the center of so many attractions means that it has a variety of hotels and restaurants for all tastes and budgets.

Getting to and from

Kissimmee is about half an hour from the Orlando airport by car or bus. By car, the Jeff Fuqua Highway is the shortest route although there are tolls on all routes by car. The Fastlink 407 Lynx bus travels between the Orlando airport and Kissimmee. There are a number of shuttle options as well as options to travel by taxi, town car or Uber.
