Bali is a beautiful Indonesian island that attracts tourists from all budget levels. The northern part of the island offers a more traditional lifestyle while the southern part is the place to go for great nightlife. It is an excellent destination for activities such as scuba diving, surfing and sailing. Bali's main attraction is its beaches, but it is rich in culture as well. The island is dotted with Hindu temples with the largest being the nine so-called "directional" temples that are said to protect the island from dark forces. The island is also famous for its music, dance and traditional puppet theater known as wayang kulit. Performances of its percussive orchestral music, known as gamelan, are also very popular.

Getting to and from Bali

Ngurah Rai International Airport is on the southern part of the island. From the airport, there are taxis with fixed fares to destinations throughout the island. Some hotels also offer shuttles, and rental cars are available as well.
