About

Europe's southernmost city, Malaga is located in Andalusia on the Costa del Sol. Malaga's subtropical climate means it has hot summers and mild winters, and locals enjoy around 300 days of sunshine per year. Malaga has its roots in antiquity, and the walls of the Phoenician city are part of the cellar in the Museo Picasso Malaga. There is a Roman theater from the 1st century B.C., and the Moors left their mark as well, building the Alcazaba in the 11th century to defend the city against pirates. Malaga has 28 museums, including the Picasso Birthplace Museum and a Fine Arts and Archeology Museum. The main beach in Malaga is La Malagueta.
