Calpe is a popular tourist destination located on the eastern coast of Spain along the Mediterranean Sea. It is known for its beaches and its proximity to the Natural Park of Penyal d'Ifac. The is an enormous limestone outcrop that features a rich diversity of plant and animal life and wonderful views from the top. The nearby Queen's Baths, or Banos de la Reina, was actually once an ancient Roman fish farm although local legend long regarded it as the site of a Moorish queen's baths. There are many interesting sights within the town as well including the old town walls and tower and the historic Church of Nuestra Senora de la Nieves.

Getting to and from Calpe

Alicante Airport is the nearest airport to Calpe and is located about 75 kilometers away. There are regular buses running throughout the day to Calpe from the airport, or you can take a taxi. The airport taxi company is Radio Taxi Elche. There is also a TRAM that runs along the coast although the train might not be direct, and you would first need to take a bus to the Alicante train station.
