The province of Guangdong is located on the coast of the South China Sea. In its capital, Guangzhou, there are a number of historic parks as well as museums, markets and restaurants. The province is known for its natural beauty. Yuexiu Hill, once part of the old walled city of Guangzhou, has a number of ancient sites and landscape. The scenic Mount Danxia in northern Guangdong is a natural World Heritage Site while the Dinghu Mountain is considered a sacred Buddhist site.

Getting to and from Guangdong

There are three international airports in Guangdong.

• Metro line 3 runs between Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and downtown Guangzhou. There are also free shuttle buses to several hotels, an airport express bus and free shuttle buses.
• Shenzhen Metro line 11 runs to the Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport. One airport bus makes three stops en route to Shenzhen Railway Station while the other goes to Longgang City Terminal.
• Airport express buses run from Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport to Jieyang, Chaozhou and Shantou.

Taxis are available from all airports.
