Surrounded by picturesque lawns and gardens, The Old Swan was once the famous retreat of Agatha Christie. It offers modern rooms with private bathrooms and on-site car parking. Originally an 18th-century coaching inn, it now features rooms with tea and coffee-making facilities, a TV and trouser press. Some also have a stand-alone bath and views over the garden. The Old Swan was home to Agatha Christie during her disappearance in 1926, and has since been used as a film set for the 1979 film, Agatha. Poor
Day one breakfast was ok although no vegetarian option Day two, there was no mushrooms so I had to ask for some and the scrambled eggs were like rubber Our room had an over the bath shower ( I have poor hip mobility)and when I rang down to reception I was told all the rooms were the same. Also there weren’t enough plugs in the room and the bathroom light switch was faulty.
The front reception were very nonchalant

Room small and no view sloping ceiling gave a claustrophobic feeling Limited choice of food breakfast cold as having to sit away from the restaurant with dog

This is a very beautiful part of Harrogate. The Hotel is lovely and the breakfast was great.
Better control at breakfast with people not aware of British protocols and handling of food. (Please don't take bags and coats into the breakfast room!!!)

Location was great, breakfast was really good. Room was a good size.
The room I was in could do with improvements. The mattress was slightly uncomfortable. There was an old door in my room that at some point would have led to what I can only describe as the suite next door. Until the guest in the suite settled, I could hear everything that was going on. The light from the hallway would shine around the edges of my door. I could hear every toilet being flushed above and below like it was being flushed in my bathroom. The floor in the hallway was visibly slanted.

Breakfast choices are very good, as is the service, while the hot food is decently cooked and of reasonable quality. The Library Lounge, with its select range of books and table-top games, is an oasis of calm and relaxation.

Overall good, the room they gave us first was beside the extractor fan from the kitchen, which was very noisy, we complained, and got moved quickly to a better room, and lots of apologies,

Great location
When booking I asked if there were rooms with 5 or 6 feet beds. Only 4.6ft beds are available and in today’s world this is not what the customer wants. We had an executive suite but there was still just a 4.6 bed.

The room was spacious and had everything you need. Food excellent. Lounge and bar areas modern and comfortable. Dining room an absolutely stunning place.
