Great location. Professional receptionist. Comfortable room
Would be helpful to advise guests of roadworks blocking the road to the hotel. The diversion signs ran out, so we had to make our own. We would have arrived on a different route if we had known in advance

The hotel is conveniently located very close to the town centre in a lovely tranquil setting. It is a charming old hotel with plenty of character.

A little dated. No guaranteed parking which also incurs additional cost.

The location was great for accessing the town. The building had an interesting history. The outside area was very pleasant. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room was clean and the shower powerful. It was in a quiet location.
The bedroom was very dated. The Wi-Fi was extremely patchy, there were very few power sockets, and the lighting was poor. Breakfast was adequate.
Only one lift for a fairly large group of residents .

Location was good and was in walking distance to the town centre and railway station. We liked that the hotel has kept many original features. There was plenty of food choice for breakfast and we were able to find a table easily.
Room was smaller than we anticipated with no drawer unit for our clothes. The shower was scalding on the first morning but was fixed very quickly. We were very disappointed that we weren't able to order food from the bar 2 nights on the trot so had to walk into town instead. We were told that this was because the restaurant was full but actually the restaurant was half empty when we looked. We were told this was due to lack of staff. The food choice for vegetarians was limited.
