We are close to a big tourist attraction and also a subway station. Also it was easy to get here from the airport. Fantastic fresh orange juice at breakfast.
The breakfast selection is a little limited.

This was my second stay at The Gate in Asakusa. It is the perfect Tokyo location and provided a perfect end to our 3-week stay in Japan. The beds were super comfortable. The central location made getting around a breeze. And it is steps away from the gates of Senso-ji, a fantastic market, and some of the best coffee and pancakes I have ever had (Coffee-kan). And you can’t beat the rooftop terrace. And while I don’t smoke, you got great skyline and Mt. Fuji views from the smoking terrace. We’ll be back!

The location is great. Close to the Asakusa shopping and temple area. Great rooftop restaurant with breakfast buffet. Yum! The staff was so friendly and everyone spoke English which was a bonus! Clean, nicely decorated modern rooms. We booked another Gate hotel during our visit. We like it that much.

Wonderful
The soundproofing was excellent, and the beds were very comfortable. Housekeeping was impeccable, with thorough cleaning and thoughtful replenishment of amenities. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were attentive, professional, and consistently helpful.
Because breakfast and check-in were located on an upper floor, the hotel felt especially private. We appreciated being able to go directly to our room and rarely encountered other guests on our floor. Given the busy neighborhood and frequent rain during our stay, the hotel’s calm atmosphere was a welcome retreat. Elevator wait times were never an issue.
Overall, we were very impressed and would gladly stay at other hotels in this brand.
After our trip was disrupted by the typhoon, we had to rebook at significantly higher rates and paid extra for a deluxe room with a view. Unfortunately, our initial room was dated and overlooked a neighboring building and air-conditioning units. A staff member quickly resolved the issue by moving us to a larger room on a lower floor, which we loved. Their assistance turned around what had been a difficult start to our trip. While Asakusa is very convenient, many nearby subway stations are older and lack escalators, making travel with luggage challenging. The area is also extremely crowded on weekends.

Wonderful
It is not a new hotel, but it is well maintained and located, very near to the Sensoji temple. The room was spacious with a good view, comfortable and clean. Very good breakfast. Good wifi.

The Gate Hotel Asakusa was, without a doubt, the best hotel we have ever stayed in.
From the moment we arrived until the day we left, everything was absolutely perfect. Honestly, we wouldn’t change a single thing. The hotel was beautiful, spotless, comfortable, and incredibly welcoming.
The service was exceptional. Every member of the staff was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. They always greeted us with a smile and made us feel welcome throughout our stay.
The breakfast was amazing. We are still dreaming about the French toast, it was honestly one of the highlights of the breakfast. Everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented.
One of our favorite parts of the hotel was the rooftop area. Both the smoking terrace and the T-Terrace were fantastic. They were cozy, relaxing, and offered incredible views of Tokyo Skytree, especially in the evening.
The location could not have been better. The hotel is perfectly connected to the rest of Tokyo with easy access to the metro, and Senso-ji Temple is just a short walk away. Asakusa itself is a wonderful neighborhood with a great atmosphere, plenty of restaurants, and so much to see and do.
We loved absolutely everything about our stay. Amazing hotel, amazing team, amazing location, and amazing food. We would recommend The Gate Hotel Asakusa to anyone visiting Tokyo, and we truly hope to return one day.
Nothing bad to say at all!

The restaurant and the view
It smells very much like cigarette. Decoration in general is old. The rooms still have carpets and they’re dirty and smelly.

It’s new nice hotel at a central location, 2 min walk to Senso-ji temple & Nakamise and Sumida river. You have Asakusa metro station in 1 min walk.
If you would like to be close to Shibuya & restaurant & bars area, this place is a bit far.

The Gate Hotel was impeccable in every aspect. Check in and staff - whether the front desk, the restaurant staff or servers - all are polite and welcoming and helpful.
The room is well appointed for relaxing. Bed is very comfortable and the shower is lovely as are the toiletries provided.
Location is convenient with a wonderful view of Skytree.

Very Good
The location is convenient for using the public transport and going around in asakusa. The room size was very good with Tokyo standard. The bed was comfortable and different sizes of pillows available which is important. We were there in may which is not so cold so the thin duvet is very convenient and you don't wake up all sweaty and warm .Coffee machine in the room is very convenient. Good size bathroom and shower. Restaurant and bar available on top floor could be useful and convenient . Air conditioning and humidifier/air purifier.
The room and corridors feel very old and you see stains on the wallpaper on different parts of the wall. If you run the AC at night, there is this distinct noise/vibration that doesn't let you sleep well, so we needed to turn it off and we still heard the other rooms. Very inconvenient that you can't open a small window for airing out. The bathroom shower slightly old and shower curtain a bit annoying. The water pressure for shower was not good so you need to use the hand shower

Very Good
The location near the Asakusa subway station and the Senso-Ji temple was great. So many restaurant and food stall options near by and easy access to multiple subway lines.
The hallways were dark and dated. The room was fine but could also use a refresh
