The ancient Japanese vibe and the neighborhood.
The sinks for the bathrooms are in the corridor, which is ok, but a little awkward when you want to brush your teeth.

Extremely clean and comfortable. Great hospitality. Great location close to Gotanda station. Walking distance to Osaki, Meguro, Togoshi Ginza. Dozens of great places to eat within walking distance. Fewer tourists and more locals in the neighborhood.

Extremely clean room and bathroom, staff were so nice and helpful, comfortable futon and yukata. The train sounds at night are so soothing and nostalgic. I will definitely return the next time I am in Tokyo.

I loved the location—it’s a great place to stay if you’re catching a flight or train the next day. It’s about a 15-minute walk from Shinagawa Station, so not extremely close, but still convenient. You also have the option to take one more stop on the JR line.
There are supermarkets and convenience stores nearby, making it easy to grab snacks and drinks. The staff were very kind and made a strong effort to clearly explain all the rules and facilities in English.
The ryokan itself has a very traditional style, making it a great choice if you’re looking to experience something different.
The rooms are very close to each other, so you may hear some noise from neighboring guests.

Friendly staff. Great location close to Osaki and Gotanda stations. Newly renovated clean tatami room. Exceptional value for price. I’ll definitely come back.
The AC occasionally made noise, but I didn’t use it much anyway.
You’ll hear the sound of train out of the window. Not recommended if you’re sensitive.

Very kind staff and also super supportive! It was our last night in Japan and we were exhausted the staff made it all easy and straight forward.
I did not like that the "onsen" closed at 11 PM. I wish it had been open all night since we made it in late given our long travel day.

The A/C unit felt a little weak and even though I had a window it let in no natural light which threw me off in the morning.

The staff were helpful and thoughtful. The room was comfortable and the shared spaces very clean. Having the Gotanda Station so close by made the location really convenient. Would definitely stay here again.

Everything. The room has tatami floors, small fridge, and is quite spacious. The towels are changed every day and the yukata was changed every 3 days I think. The staff were super nice.
