Beautiful and neat place. Well signed and easy to locate. Very clean, tidy facilities and everything you need including kitchenette, fridge, microwave, and comfortable laundry and bathroom facilities. Very friendly staff with good English. Helpful tourist information available. Great location, convenient to the river, food, Tokyo station and other train stations.
Only a few minor issues! Could improve by having insect screens on the windows (mosquitoes). The windows and doors were quite creaky and made very loud noises to open and close!

Very Poor
The Neighborhood around the "Ryokan" (LOL) was amazing !
The whole house smelled Moldy/Musty.
Toilets next to my room-I rather not describe the sounds I heard. The walls are thin is an understatement.
Room did not even remotely resemble the pictures in my booking confirmation and had no Japanese features at all.
Showers are on first floor/rooms on third floor and you have to walk past reception staff to shower. AwKwArD.
No slippers provided but very dirty, disgusting carpet.
Futons are really thin. I was lucky to have 2 in the room and I rudely utilised both.
Shared facilities were never clean when the Manager Lady was in Charge. I often cleaned public areas myself cause I did not want people to think I made the mess.
Staff intercepted you every time you enter or leave and make mindless smalltalk, wasting your time.
Staff constantly reminded you to leave a positive review.
No amenities at all. No coffe/tea, nothing like in a real Ryokan. Very cheap owners.
My Trip to Japan was amazing, except for this "Ryokan".
On my trip I stayed in 3 Hotels, 5 Ryokans and 2 Capsule Hotels.
Absolutely all of those exceeded all expectations and hospitality was outstanding!
Unfortunately Ito Ryokan was so very far below Japanese average and I would only recommend it to my worst enemies.
Basically I knew I should just turn around the moment I walked into the cramped , musty, dingy reception area.
The smell was offputting but my allergies soon kicked in and my nose was too blocked to smell anything. So all is good.
When I did get home everybody said all my stuff stank of mold! Lol
It took so long to be checked in cause you get a crash course on how to recycle your own trash and make your bed and remove the sheets after your stay..all to make your stay as comfortable as possible..for the staff.
I did not get the room that I reserved. The manager agreed to change the room or refund me the difference but nothing was the case.

Very traditional Japanese guest house, the staff were so so lovely. Chokoko and Moray were both very welcoming and helpful suggestion local restaurants and stuff for us to do during our stay.
A little bit dusty in the room, made me sneeze a lot.

We loved our stay. The location is perfect, close to the station. The hosts were so kind and attentive, we miss them already. We will definitely be back. Also airconditioning in summer was a real plus. We got to experience a shamisen performance and our host made us try natto which was very questionable but a very fun experience.
We loved everything.

Everything about it was fantastic. The room was super cute and clean, the futons were very comfortable, but the best part of everything was how nice the staff was. We asked him for recommendations on an Omakase place, and not only did they provide recommendations, they also helped us called the restaurants for reservations and availability. They probably spent an hour trying to get this worked out for us. They were really fun to talk to you and were very friendly. The location was also superb, it was close to subway stations and convenience stores. Amenities were also great. They also provided super cute robes in the room. The air conditioning unit worked all very well, the bathrooms were clean, the shower water pressure was fantastic. They also had a laundry machine, but no dryer. We didnt end up using the washing machine, but it was available for for use. I would definitely return and recommend to friends and family.
No complaints.

Super friendly staff! They were very helpful and nice with us, even they gave us a luggage bag for free when they saw us with a lot of luggage. The place is very clean, close to all the important places to visit in Tokyo, 100% recommended

Wonderful
The location was in a very safe and convenient location. Not only was there a ton of food options near by, but it was very walkable and the area around the inn was very peaceful. I also enjoyed the attentiveness of the staff and how sincere they were. Also, I really appreciate how the doors in the rooms locked! A small detail, but I actually wasn't expecting them to (thinking of something similar to a hostel or capsule), so that was a bonus.
I think this is a great location for solo or younger travelers, since you will need to share bathroom and vanity spaces. I did not really mind this, but could see it being an issue for some. Also, since it is an older building, the walls are thin, so you will hear people walking up and down the stairs and such. Again, not really an issue, but something to keep in mind.
