Amazing staff.
For a business centered hotel, food was not traveler friendly. I work to try local cuisine and drink when I travel - but for a 5-star hotel was surprised by the lack of selection (either Japanese or low quality American at the buffet; ham slices floating on water - uncooked bacon ; without European options).

Very welcoming and attentive at check in. Helpful with bag transportation for the next hotel. Room was very spacious, we got a king bed, and I loved the restroom.
There was construction going on outside but that is out of their control.

Classic Hotel with amazing history . Staff were outstanding including Ken head of Concierge Service. Main building rooms preferable spacious well appointed. Vikings restaurant a real breakfast experience Japanese and Western menus .
The price vs value equation was only concerned with but location was exceptional

Ideal location for me, central and across from Hibiyu Park. The staff is beautifully trained and attentive. They are carefully supervising many well chosen trainees as well. Great people watching for there are many weddings and special occasions celebrated here.
Processed American cheese in the Cobb Salqd? In other words nothing of importance to criticize.

The brief travel in time while crossing the lobby - until you see the room…
completely dated, almost derelict, Soviet- style hotel way past his prime… for the price of the Peninsula. Disgraceful, despite the great history that is unfortunately hidden .

The service was impeccable. Location is central. Beds and pillows were the best possible. Room is spacious.
We have not received the room in the main building but to be honest I have not checked if the room swap was available. It is only was a bit longer walk to get to the other part of hotel. The downside of this hotel was that interior was outdated. The last renovation was around 2008 if I understood correct. Walls in a room were painted with a very thick pattern and Caroets in the room and in the verifies were very old. But the place was spotlessly clean and service was very great and staff were so polite . As well the restaurant and coffee shop charged insane amounts for breakfast and simple cappuccino.

The hotel staff was friendly, polite, and very organized. I had my luggage forwarded from Osaka and it arrived before I checked in. I strongly recommend that travelers in Japan take advantage of the takkyubin services. It makes traveling in Japan so much easier. The room was spacious with all the comforts you would expect of a 5 star hotel in Japan. And it had a great view of the Imperial gardens nearby. Room service breakfast was exactly on time and was at the perfect temperature. It was a pleasure staying at this historic hotel and I highly recommend a drink at the Old Imperial Bar. Overall, a great stay at the Imperial Hotel and I would do it again.
The swimming pool appeared dated and probably in need of some renovations.

Wonderful
Location is very close to subway and the Hibiya Gardens. The hotel is beautiful and very clean, with very friendly, respectful and helpful staff. Loved the fresh pyjama's provided every night, the temperature controlled toilet seats were cute. Nice amenities in the bathroom.
Breakfast options at the Diner were limited, and it was not buffet style you ordered and it was brought to you. The food was well presented and tasty. Bathroom was a bit cramped, with just one basin. Not a fan of the shower in the bathtub.
