Wonderful
Hotel is located at very close to many subway stations. There is always a taxi waiting in front of the hotel if you are in a hurry. In-room massage is great after a long day of exploring this wonderful city. The restaurants inside the hotel are amazing, I strongly recommend Sekishin-Tei.
I was expecting a wooden bathtub that seen in photos but my room had a regular bathtub. They still provided with traditional bath salts which was a bonus.

Good
A hotel that's steep in history, huge space with a garden and quite a walk within. Breakfast was good and staff service was typical of Japanese hospitality.
Rooms were dated and on the dim side due to the dark wood furniture they used. No proper amenities nearby (except for a small convenience store) and a relatively long walk to the train stations.

Proximity to train station, local amenities, quite neighborhood
Breakfast is expensive if it’s not included in your package

This hotel features in the James Bond Film, You Only Live Twice. We made a special visit to this hotel based on the fact it features in the film.
The staff were highly professional and diligent and did everything they could to make the stay a success. The bar in the hotel has excellent views and is really worth a visit.
The hotel is a little hard to get to from public transport. The bathroom is a little dated. The television was in a really odd location in the room and I walked into on one occasion.

The gardens are beautiful, no matter the season. The restaurants are great and the view is amazing.
The decoration felt dated, but not unclean.

Nice to have sitting area in room. Beautiful garden outside.
Fitness facilities were not great. Very small area with limited weights (10 kg free weight max) and area to work out in. Cleaning staff did not take away old ice buckets and dishes so we had 3 trays pile up in our room. Fridge was very small. Property was not as convenient for walking and exploring by foot. Pool cannot be accessed by minors. Did not feel like the personal touch of a 5 star hotel.

The room was beautiful, plenty of space to stretch out. Water pressure was excellent for showering or just filling up tub for a bath. The Rose garden was beautiful. The Japanese garden was a nice stroll with a beautiful manmade waterfall
Its more than 10 min walk to find other places to eat outside hotel. The restaurants in the hotel could be a bit pricy for many. There are more than enough to choose from. Breakfast buffet was the same everyday. We stayed 7 days and slowly got bored eating the same choices each day

Wonderful
Beautiful views and grounds. Room was quite big by Japanese standards. Shower and wooden bath were amazing. Great in room selection of tea and coffee. Surprised that soft drinks were also complimentary. Staff was very helpful and there was always a taxi available. Breakfast was great.
The location is out of the way, and it’s a bit of a walk to a train station. So, may not be the best choice for people who want to be in the middle of it all. Fitness center was small, but nice running route around Akasaka Palace nearby.

Wonderfully clean, friendly, accommodating staff and lovely location. The nearest station was about a 10min walk which wasn’t too bad. Beautiful hotel grounds with lots to see.
The walk can be a little far if you’ve done quite a bit of shopping holding a bit of bags lol

The hotel is absolutely stunning in every way. The rooms overlooking the gardens are amazing.
Avoid the rooms overlooking the car park – they're really gloomy and depressing.
Some of the staff didn't understand my requests.
I had to insist several times at reception.

The hotel is like a resort. Pool, many restaurants, a small well appointed gym and an AMAZING staff. The garden is unbelievably large and beautiful.
It’s almost too big. It is a bit of a walk to public transportation but there are taxis always available outside the hotel.
