Good location within walking distance from Shinagawa train station. The room was spacious by Tokyo standards. Furniture was a bit dated but room was very clean and the bathroom was clean and nicely renovated.

The view, wonderful staff, excellent service.
For a five-star hotel, the room could've had a better feel. The carpets show wear. The bathroom does NOT look like a five-star bathroom - there's only one dim light, the bath tub had some water in it and it wasn't cleaned properly.

I only enjoyed the location due to it's close proximity to Shingawa station and the hotel's garden.
There were roaches in the bathroom, the furniture dates back to the turn of the millenia, and the temperature in the room was boiling hot even when the AC is off.

The hotel was clean and had plenty of food options in the hotel and nearby the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The walk from the train station is a little steep especially if you are carrying bags. The garden at night was beautiful.
The pool was closed, mid September, even though it was ridiculously hot.

This hotel ended up being one of our favourites on the entire trip. We stayed here our first night in Tokyo, and it ruined my expectations for Japanese hotels and hospitality for the rest of our trip! The room was massive by Japanese standards; the beds extremely comfortable (I found many of the other mattresses quite hard). We arrived very late - as dinner service was just windng up - but the bar staff allowed us to put in a last minute order and kept us well-supplied with free snacks! The rooms had lovely little balconies with a fantastic view of the Tokyo Tower. My absolute favourite part, though, was the gardens. They were gorgeous. And as we were staying there the night before Halloween, I was so thrilled to see pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns incorporated into the design. We spent a few hours - both the night we arrived and then the next morning- walking around and enjoying the gardens and their designs. I have stayed in a lot of conference centre hotels, and have an idea of what they are like. The Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa really reminded me more of a resort (with the drawback of not being all-inclusive). Additionally, though not fully explained here, the Grand Prince is one of three hotel towers that share the name and location. You're able to walk between them and use restaurants/bars across the property with little scrutiny.
Probably that it was the first hotel and we did not stay there again on our trip! We will make sure to fix that in the future!

The space for the room is above average. The room had great amenities including an air filter. Good breakfast. Bell counter employees and check in staff were helpful.
The check out staff were not kind and very disrespectful to multiple customers from my observation. One in particular was sleepy and stood there with her eyes closed while people were lining up to check out. She then proceeded to look on her phone. When a customer finally got her attention she told them to just check out at the machine (even though the machine told us to come to the counter) and then ignored him. When it was my turn, I asked her where the breakfast lounge was and all she said was, “card” without explanation nor detail. Credit card, gift card, room card, etc.? I had to ask what kind of card, she then raised her voice in annoyance like she’s doing the world a favor and answered, “ROOM CARD!” and rolled her eyes at me. It’s like they don’t want any guests here, which is fine. The hotel location was already inconvenient but with such rude employees, I’ll take my business elsewhere.

Absolutely stunning room with the most amazing views, clean and comfortable. Hotel was situated in gorgeous grounds.
Food and services at the hotel were expensive. Considering the price of the hotel room, there could have been cheaper meals and washing machines available rather than use the pricey laundry service the hotel offers.

HAD DIFFICULTY FINDING THE CORRECT ENTRANCE TO OUR SECTION OF THE HOTEL, AS THERE WERE A NUMBER OF GRAND PRINCE HOTELS ON THE ONE CAMPUS.
