The onsen is amazing and the best we tried. They had great amenities as well and I loved the onsen attire and slippers.
The room was a little small.

Excellent location in Shibuya, away from the craziness but close to everything. The onsen is very nice, we used it every day during our stay. Washers are free to use and dryers only 100Y for 20min. Price slightly higher than some other options cut you get what you pay for and Dormy is worth it. For someone visiting Japan for the first time this is also and excellent starting point to transition to Japanese cultural norms.
No complaints.

Loved the onsen! The location was very convenient and it was very clean.
The rooms are tiny…but I didn’t expect any bigger.

Wonderful
Great facilities nicely presented for a budget hotel with a wonderful Onzen on the second floor and very nice breakfast area. The Harajuku location close to Shibuya can’t be beaten.

Very Good
Having loved the Dormy Inn in Osaka, we found this location to be a bit sub-par. The breakfast was very basic and there was not the beloved happy hours included offering. The rooms were very small. The Onsen was large with an abundance of pools to enjoy and a very hot sauna. The staff was helpful. The nightly ramen delicious. The location was good.
Felt it was a bit harder used than other locations. The pay-to-use bar felt secluded and odd.

Good location and good value for money.
It was tucked away and you had to walk through a dark roadway with a small park bordering it to get there. I never felt unsafe, but you need to be aware of it.

Poor
The staff were nice... but very surprised this hotel gets such high ratings. The rooms were SO SMALL, so dated and not clean.
Rooms were very small, very dated, not clean - you can absolutely find a better hotel for same/similar costs. I was surprised it came as highly reviewed as it did.

Location was wonderful, close to everything but still tucked away and quiet. The breakfast was surprisingly delicious - lots of variety and evening was yummy.
The smoking room was so tiny. I wish my window wasn't frosted so I could have some scenery.

The Granbell was a great option for us. It was a good value as it was a good bit less cost than others around and everything was perfectly fine for our 5 night stay in Tokyo. Quiet location but close to everything, great staff, room you'd expect, all for less than other places.
I can't think of any particular cons.

I liked the communal baths and overall cleanliness of the hotel and bath areas, the laundry and most especially the complimentary Ramen Soup in the evening. A special treat!
Location frontage was a bit strange. It felt like we were coming in the back way. Nevertheless, the closeness to all things Shibuya was greatly appreciated.

Close to the busy shibuya crossing area but tucked away in a quiet place away from the hustle and bustle. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, and of course the late night ramen and ice cream.

Easy check in. Very good breakfast with many buffet and cook to order options. The onsen was very relaxing, though a little small and not like the pictures shown on Booking.
It was a bit expensive compared to other options with rooms of this size.

The breakfast was amazing with a lot of choices. Location was walking distance to everything. Room was very small, but we didn't stay too long in the room, so it was fine.

The location is perfect, on a quiet side street but just over ten minutes from the heart of Shibuya to the south and Harajuku to the north. Very convenient to train and subway stops, so easy to get to other parts of Tokyo. Hundreds of restaurants within easy walking distance. Great shopping. The Yamamote train line runs right next to the hotel, but the rooms are well insulated from the sound.
The room we selected was very small. Make sure your relationship is strong if sharing the space with a partner.
