Very Good
The free late-night ramen and rooftop onsen with free ice cream has always been a highlight of staying at Dormy, and the Akihabara branch is no exception. The upkeep of the room we stayed at was kept clean on entry.
The room we booked admittedly was on the smaller side, though is typical for hotels found in the central Tokyo metropolitan area such as this one. Particularly, the sink area is small so don't expect to have much room if you need an array of different toiletries around.

Wonderful
The public bath after long day outside is just fantastic.
I asked for a room at higher floors to get away from street noise, unfortunately while there was practically none of the street noise there was some heavy machinery that kept roaring up for a few seconds then silence for few seconds and then roaring up again constantly day and night making it hard to sleep.
The accommodation is great but i will avoid the floor right below the bathing area next time.

Good
Staff is very nice, onsen is amazing. Location is good. 7/11 is very close as well as the metro station. Everything except the room was very good. Complimentary soup at the evening is a great highlight (as it is in every Dormy Inn). Breakfast was very good as well. Even better than in some Dormy's I stayed before.
Even though I love Dormy Inn and stayed many times in this chain, this particular one was very questionable. The room is tiny. And I mean even Japanise standard tiny. The bed was even smaller then tiny. They gave us 140 for 2 people. To sleep was a struggle. Every part of body hurts after such experience.
Of course, when we asked to upgrade- there were none of the bigger options, and frankly, not sure they exist. The cleaning was fine, but I would say, could be definitely better.
Also, no any view from the room, even the sky is barely visible.
I understand that is in Akihabara, but frankly, there are better option out there, even if this neighborhood. Price point is a bit exaggerated, in my opinion.

Great onsen! This was the highlight of our stay. The rooms are very small and the bathroom as well. I would choose it again just because of the onsen
Small room
Staff don’t speak English

Right next to akihabara. Very close to ginza line. The public bath was really nice.

The onsen is an absolute highlight and open all night. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, but communication takes some time if you only speak English. Rooms are clean and the bed was very comfortable for us. Location is also great, the Ginza line only 3min by foot. Highly recommend staying here!
Booking was a little bit confusing, the single twin bed room for two seems quite too small, we took the full bed (1.40m width) and absolutely loved our stay.

The front desk agents where great communicators! Lots of Google translate was used. They held on to our bags before and after checking in and checkout which was incredibly helpful. The onsen was beautiful and well maintained.

Wonderful
The best thing about this hotel is rooftop public onsen with free ice cream or probiotic drink after. Second best is free ramen in the evening. Rooms are pretty small and worn out a little bit.
Nothing significant

Rooms are tiny but the onsen and included perks are awesome. We also like the location because it was pretty easy to get everywhere we wanted to go with the metro.

Poor
I liked the location and in theory I liked the amenities, but the overall condition of the hotel was so poor I did not try to use them. In fact, we didn’t even stay for the whole duration .
Quite possibly the most rundown hotel in Tokyo. Dingy, dirty, with peeling wallpaper and an overwhelming smell of mildew, I saw surprised at the condition of the hotel. The mildew issue was so bad we had to leave and get another hotel.

Wonderful
Really nice place. Amazing staff..and location. The on en is really great. The suna was by far the hottest we've encountered in Japan (you quickly learn to use the rubbery cushion!). The breakfast was quite good, a good mi ix of Japanese and wedtern-style foods.
The rooms were quite small, so were the beds. I could barely fit in with my 16-y son shoulder-to-shoulder (I am the dad). Also we had to book two rooms since we were four (a common occurence in Japan, where hotel rooms are designed for 2). But in the end it was fine.
