The people at the front desk were very friendly and welcoming. The basement bar/hangout was very hip, and the coffee on the main floor was delicious. They had a nice communal space for cooking as well. Our room was on a corner and had a large winder, which was cool. Overall, would definitely recommend this place.

Very nice beds and felt very clean. Everyone on the staff was so kind.
Was semi social but many people seemed to be working and traveling. Also the lockers in the room are small.

Cheap and comfortable. Only stayed one night, only came to sleep. Bed and pillow was comfy.
The beds are just separated by curtains, so you are at the mercy of your fellow travelers for quiet sleep. I got lucky in the female dorm.

Loved the place! Location is great, not in the noisy part of Tokyo, yet not remote and all I needed was in a walking distance. The staff was so nice, and the overall atmosphere and vibe of the place was awesome. Also, the facilities were great, so clean and tidy.

Common area was nice. Bathrooms were clean. Bed was comfortable.
Was difficult to make my bed as it was on the top bunk. There is a lot of noise at night, and you can encounter snoring. Since the bunks are connected, movement in the bottom bunk will move the top bunk too.

Like many hotels in Japan, staying in November meant only heater setting for air conditioning, so that was a little rough, lockers are a little confusing, but work good for small items.

I’d heard about this hostel a long time ago and really wanted to try it. It’s famous for its bar, music, and community vibe and I can see why. I really liked the atmosphere downstairs and the friendly, welcoming staff.
Unfortunately, the property feels quite old, and it’s been open for a while without much renovation. I stayed in the upper bunk, which was very close to pipes and other fixtures; it didn’t feel particularly safe or clean.
I also noticed that the duvets weren’t properly washed between guests; they were just aired out for a few hours before being reused. I’m honestly surprised there haven’t been hygiene issues yet.
Considering the price, I expected the place to be cleaner and more modern. It’s quite average overall. You also have to make your own bed and duvet, and the duvet cover only covers one side, leaving the rest exposed to previous guests.
I didn’t sleep well, maybe because I didn’t feel comfortable. Next time, I’ll choose a place with a proper ceiling and a fresher, more hygienic environment.

Staff were friendly and hospitable. There was a bar downstairs and you can get coffe and breakfast at the first floor in the morning.
Not the hostel's fault. But there was someone who threw up in the 2nd floor's male shower changing room (and in 2 out of 3 of them)when I stayed there. Dunno who, but please, if you want to throw up after drinking or not feeling well, find a toilet or a sink at the very least.

The private room was very expensive for what you get. My room in San Francisco on my way out to Tokyo was $40 cheaper, two times bigger, and had a private bathroom.

Convenient location
I went to the specified room and bed to find someone else sleeping there, I went back to the reception and told them this and they arranged another bed for me, but I had specifically requested a bottom bunk and they said they ran out even though they had accepted the request when I booked.
