Location is great, next to the large Ueno park where there is the Tokyo Zoo and lots of old Temples and museums and across the street from the Ueno train station. Room was small but fine for me as I was on my own and the queen bed was comfortable and the hotel is very clean and modern in appearance.

APA Hotel Ueno is conveniently located with easy access to the subway, metro, and Shinkansen stations just nearby. There are also several decent restaurants within walking distance, making it a practical and comfortable area to stay in. Bed and pillow are comfotable.

It's located right outside the Keisei Skyliner station in Ueno, so it's extremely convenient for people going to or arriving from Narita Airport. It's a business hotel, so expect tiny rooms and basic facilities, which are all well within my expectations.
The check-in and check-out experience was cold and unpleasant. I didn't mind that it's self check-in and check-out — I accept that's all part and parcel of keeping costs down — but I didn't like that there were staff at the counter who would assist other guests while ignoring me. The unequal treatment of guests is not a great way to deliver memorable hospitality.

Location from the Keisei and Ueno JR train station is perfect. Walkable. Lots of food places to choose from. Nice area to take a walk.
Rooms are very, very tiny. No floor space for luggage or anything. The bed is also very small. No control of heating or air con. The temperature is based on the outside weather not the temperature inside. Rooms get very uncomfortably warm to hot.
