I stayed here for one night as I was staying the week over in Tokyo, and I just had to stay. I highly recommend this place. The staff is super friendly, English is phenomenal, helpful and made us feel at home. This place is in a quiet neighbourhood, with restaurants to choose from as well. It is only an 8-minute walk to the train station to take you to different parts of Tokyo! A cool thing about this place is that it has a lot of vintage/antique iteams that make you feel that you are at a museum. Many may wonder if the beds are comfortable, and yes, they very much are! I am short; however, my friend is 6'2"/188cm and agrees that the beds were perfect and comfortable for his height!
I do not have anything that I did not like about the place! This is a little out from central Tokyo, however, the train ride is not that bad and you will not have to worry about being woken up very early morning!

The breakfast at this ryokan was truly fantastic. They would serve a traditional Japanese breakfast based on a few options to select from. I got the fish breakfast when I was there, and it was incredibly fresh and tasty. The room are a little tight, but that's okay given what value you're getting from the ryokan. They also had a jacuzzi that you can reserve, which was a cherry on top. The staff is fluent in English and is very kind and friendly as well.
It was a little far from the city center, but that's okay because there is a nearby train station that will take you to the bustling areas.

The room has no private toilet and shower, it is said in the moment of reservation. However, there was only 1 shower per floor, which was very uncomfortable! I was expecting tradicional Ryokan vibe, but it has a Hostel vibe.

I really enjoyed the breakfast, which was freshly prepared by a chef. The jacuzzi was only okay, but I loved the room and the general atmosphere of the property. It was great having a rooftop area to relax, as well as a convenient coin laundry on-site. The neighborhood was another highlight - it is tucked away in a local residential area rather than a main tourist hub, so it felt very peaceful and authentic. The entire place was also very clean.
Minor letdown was the jacuzzi, which was just so-so. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything amazing either.
Another downside was having to leave a 2,000 yen deposit for the property key card, which felt a bit odd

Excellent value for a lovely ryokan in a quiet area of Tokyo. Great breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The little jacuzzi was clean and decorated nicely, and nice to find that it was private and one can sign up for a slot. Would definitely stay again.
Only allowed one coffee (this is not enough for a coffee addict like me!)

Second time here -11 years apart. You get the 'ryokan' experience in Tokyo for a reasonable price. The staff could not be more friendly and the food was great. The location is very close to a convenient subway line. The jacuzzi is great after miles of walking. Great value.

I added the breakfast option to my stay and was pleasantly surprised by how many options and how good the food tasted. The communal showers were bigger than I thought, along with the single room. All the staff were welcoming and made leaving my luggage there before checking in and after checking out easy.
Location wise, it’s very close to asakusa and I was able to go to all of my last minute stops before flying out. It’s about 8 minutes from the subway, not the worse but can feel like forever after a long day of walking.

The breakfast options were delicious. The room was very comfortable and cosy. The hot pool option was a huge bonus and access to and around Tokyo was very easy. The staff were all very helpful and nice people. Would definitely visit again.

Loved the Futon bed style, felt great after a long day of walking as did the jacuzzi. Check in was easy and the staff is so helpful with the bags. They also have a really helpful poster with airport travel options that made our departure smooth.

location: station 11 min walk. Hibiya line conveniently connects to other train stations.
on a quiet street. we checked in just before the deadline at 10pm. grateful there is a luggage elevator.
we were on the 3rd floor. our room was across from the bathrooms. the kitchenette (hot water, frig & tea/coffee) was located a few rooms down.
the ofuro was only a flight up on the 4th floor, which we used each night.
the laundry on the 5th had the best clothes dryer we used in japan - quickly dried & large capacity.
the room was adequate for us to spread out. the futons were decent.
rooms were fairly quiet, but you can still hear a few bumps.
there is a 7-11 and a family mart nearby. daiso is 10 min walk
the history of the artwork was a nice touch. i did not manage to look at all of the panels.
i would have used a different handrail on the stairs. i felt like stylistically choosing a rough steel bar was ok, but comfort wise, it was not nice to hold, & too utilitarian. if one slipped, i was afraid of grabbing it & ripping the skin off my hands.
the tub was huge which if you had a party of 4, might make sense. instead, i thought it wasted water, energy & space. i would have chosen 2 smaller tubs & divided the space so more people could use the tubs. it was difficult to know if the person prior to you did use their reserve time, making an inefficient use of the tub.
these are minor complaints in the scheme of things. i would use andon ryokan again.

It is so much more than simply a place to sleep. Very interesting design. Full restaurant and bar on ground floor a big plus. Very friendly.

Very Good
Quiet, very clean and perfect first stop after long travel from USA. I absolutely loved the private Jacuzzi tub. Breakfast was amazing and they give you so much food. Rooms are simple but exactly what I wanted for myself and my 14 year old son. Location is only a few minute walk from train station.
I really have no complaints beyond having to pay 3000 yen to dispose of a broken suitcase. But again, this is not a big deal at all and I was appreciative that they let us leave our luggage there after check out in order to go buy a new suitcase.
