Very Good
location: station 11 min walk. Hibiya line conveniently connects to other train stations.
on a quiet street. we checked in just before the deadline at 10pm. grateful there is a luggage elevator.
we were on the 3rd floor. our room was across from the bathrooms. the kitchenette (hot water, frig & tea/coffee) was located a few rooms down.
the ofuro was only a flight up on the 4th floor, which we used each night.
the laundry on the 5th had the best clothes dryer we used in japan - quickly dried & large capacity.
the room was adequate for us to spread out. the futons were decent.
rooms were fairly quiet, but you can still hear a few bumps.
there is a 7-11 and a family mart nearby. daiso is 10 min walk
the history of the artwork was a nice touch. i did not manage to look at all of the panels.
i would have used a different handrail on the stairs. i felt like stylistically choosing a rough steel bar was ok, but comfort wise, it was not nice to hold, & too utilitarian. if one slipped, i was afraid of grabbing it & ripping the skin off my hands.
the tub was huge which if you had a party of 4, might make sense. instead, i thought it wasted water, energy & space. i would have chosen 2 smaller tubs & divided the space so more people could use the tubs. it was difficult to know if the person prior to you did use their reserve time, making an inefficient use of the tub.
these are minor complaints in the scheme of things. i would use andon ryokan again.

It is so much more than simply a place to sleep. Very interesting design. Full restaurant and bar on ground floor a big plus. Very friendly.
Nothing. I have been staying here since 2007 and probably stayed here on 10-12 different occasions.

Very Good
Quiet, very clean and perfect first stop after long travel from USA. I absolutely loved the private Jacuzzi tub. Breakfast was amazing and they give you so much food. Rooms are simple but exactly what I wanted for myself and my 14 year old son. Location is only a few minute walk from train station.
I really have no complaints beyond having to pay 3000 yen to dispose of a broken suitcase. But again, this is not a big deal at all and I was appreciative that they let us leave our luggage there after check out in order to go buy a new suitcase.

Clean, good amenities.
Slightly far from main tourist hubs but close to the station, but that’s expected because Tokyo is so huge.

Wonderful
This ryokan is a bit strange in its structure: it first looks like a standard (non traditional) building. However, once here, it is clear that a lot of attention has been put on the decoration. Not only the large drawings and the small work of art, but any tile has been put there with taste. The location not far from Minowa station in a quiet neighbourhood is also very good. The breakfast, especially the japanese fish, breakfast is very tasty. Laundry is convenient. The hotel also has a bar and serves dinner, which we did not try... but there is a gem restaurant hidden in the immediate neighbourhood. The staff is very helpful (as usual in ryokans, after a first abrupt encounter).

Wonderful
I love the location, cute property, friendly staff and option to have wonderful breakfast.
I would like to have sleep in little longer for breakfast. Would be better to have breakfast time 8:30 am rather then 7:30 am but everything else was great

The Andon is a lovely and simple traditional inn that is spotlessly clean. The onsen is really just a hot tub but really enjoyable. We had a delicious and good value breakfast the day of our departure. I would def go back.

Good
The location, very nice staff (quick to answer by messages and accommodating), good breakfast with great choices, the jacuzzi, beds were comfortables, calm neighborhood
The noise coming from the corridor's door... We were on the 1st floor and the door that communicate between the corridor and the common area is on the bedroom's wall, so everytime someone open and close (or slam) the door, the noise is very loud in the bedroom. When other guests start their day at 5am or 6am, it is not pleasant.
The pillow was too big and hard for one of us, but no problem for the others

There was a nice jacuzzi bath which was perfect after a long travel day. The breakfast was very delicious - highly recommend! Also, it was nice to experience a more traditional Japanese inn with tatami and futons. By the way, I had the best sleep of my whole trip here using the aforementioned futons :)
It was a bit out of the way in terms of location. After getting off the shinkansen at Tokyo Station it was another 30 minutes to the hotel. However, it is conveniently located near the Hibiya line which is well connected.

The family room looked much bigger in the photos than in person. It was very tight for 4 people.
