Great location, not far from restaurants and attractions. Off of the main street so you're a 3 min walk to shops and food but far enough to enjoy quiet.

The location was exceptional, very centrally located in the Gion District and a 10 minute walk to downtown Kyoto, 15 min walk to Nishiki Market.
A lot of restaurants and shopping but it was not noisy .
The onsen or public bath was exceptional after a hard day exploring.
Staff was very helpful.
Would highly recommend

Stylish, calm hotel in a fabulous location! Close to many sites and restaurants, just a street away from the busier action in the area. We enjoyed exploring the area on foot. The lobby was stylish with seating areas and a bar. From our room we heard no noise from the street, hallway or neighbours. The onsen was beautiful and darkly lit, which made me comfortable using it (nude) with other guests...although I often had it to myself. I would stay here again.

Breakfast was one of the best parts. Staff was spot on. Location was superb in Gion. Very efficiently operated all the way around. Nice selection of local cafes and izakaya just around every corner.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Kyoto. It’s the perfect base for exploring the city, with easy access to multiple transport options and plenty of restaurants nearby. Gion is just a short walk away, which made it so easy to head out and wander through the historic streets at different times of the day.
The hotel itself is clean, modern and very comfortable, while still keeping a lovely traditional Kyoto feel. It strikes a great balance between contemporary style and local character.
The staff were warm and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. A special thank you to housekeeping for finding and safely returning my earring, it was very much appreciated. I would happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto.
The only area that fell a little short for us was the breakfast. It was fairly average and not quite at the same standard as the rest of the hotel experience. It would have been lovely to enjoy a proper cup of coffee rather than the conference style machine coffee. Being in Kyoto, offering a good quality matcha option would have also been a nice touch and would better reflect the local culture.

It was situated perfectly in between the two main shopping areas within a 15 minute walk to both as well as 5 to 10 minute walks from temples. It was also extremely close to all the main train stations very beautiful stay lovely staff great breakfast great amenities. The Onsen was really awesome as well. Super clean.

Honestly, we loved everything about this hotel. The location is perfect, the vibe is on point and the accommodations were outstanding!
We enjoyed tea in the beautiful lobby, while learning origami. And the room... king room was beautiful, we were on the basement level and the garden outside made it that much better.
We enjoyed the meditation bath area in the morning - peaceful.

Boutique hotel with comfortable, stylish lobby with large seating area (sofas and tables), bar and breakfast area. Personal small samples of items such as skin care, razors and body care are available in the lobby. Absolutely fantastic location! Breakfast was good but we opted not to use hotel breakfast for the rest of our stay. Room was smaller (by western standards) but comfortable, clean, cozy and quiet. Onsen on site. Hotel staff was fantastic - friendly and professional. Met and exceeded expectations! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality!
I would say there wasn't really much we didn't like about this hotel.

This hotel was absolutely beautiful. The staff spoke English well and were very friendly and welcoming. It is within close walking distance to all the amenities, which made everything very convenient. Since it was our honeymoon, they greeted us with complimentary drinks, which was such a lovely touch. Everything was very clean, and our entire stay was fabulous. They also kindly held our luggage after check-out, which made our departure much easier. We truly had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend it.

I like how it was in the Main Street but hidden so the area was very quiet. The hotel was near everything to mall, shops, restaurants and more. Staff was very friendly and spoke English. The room itself was very clean and nice with a really big bed a bit small then usual but really nice

This spot was centrally located so made it easy to get around, whether on foot or using the train system. Rooms were clean and fresh. Public bath/onsen were nice. The breakfast was ample and there is a nice sitting area in the lobby.

we booked a Superior Twin Room with Tatami Floor
the location of the hotel in GIon was perfect
close access to 2 subway stations and bus stops
easy walking to temple areas and iconic streets of Gion
plenty of small restaurants nearby
easy walk across the bridge to the downtown area and Pontocho Alley
the room was spotless, but basic. it had a small table and chairs and room for suitcases on the floor and still plenty of room to walk around
the basement onsen was a nice feature. the women's had several washing stations, one stand up shower, 2 vanity spaces with hairdryers, and lockers.
breakfast was good with predominantly asian offerings
coffee, tea, small snacks, hand warmers, bathroom amenities available free of charge in the lobby
in-room fridge, hot pot and coffee maker
lobby is comfortable with tables and leather sofas
our room had a bathtub

I felt it was a very good value
these are not dislikes, but one should be aware that the hotel is somewhat self-service.
the rooms are not serviced daily. we stayed 4 nights and were offered one day of in-room housekeeping on the day of our choosing. the other days, you can place your dirty towels/linens in a small hamper outside your room, and they will be replaced in a cloth bag that is hung outside your door. daily water is also replaced in this manner. the room has shampoo, conditioner, and hand soap. other amenities (toothbrush, face soap, oil, masks, shower cap, comb, etc) are available in the lobby free of charge to pick up on your own.
