Excellent location opposite Higashi Hongan-ji Temple; the view while having breakfast is beautiful. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, and it's located very close to Kyoto Station with many transportation options and tourist attractions. I loved that on certain days of the month they offer free transportation for guests to the main tourist sites. The staff is extremely friendly, and the hotel has separate onsen (hot springs) for men and women.
There is nothing negative about my stay; it is the second time I have stayed and I have always received excellent service.

It was a fantastic experience! The staff was very helpful and courteous. The hotel has a beautiful serene and traditional ambiance, and full of lots of thoughtful details. For example, You can help yourself to whatever you need for the night ( e.g. toiletries) at the lobby area. The room is ultra clean and the bed is comfortable.
The location is very convenient, walking distance from Kyoto Station. We were worried about traffic and noise being close to the station but it's Japan so that's not an issue at all. The temple right outside of the hotel is a surprise highlight. It offers a night area to walk early and late at night for a leisure stroll. Ask for a room with the temple view!
Last but not least, yes, it's worth it to come here for the hot spring. It's a great way to experience Japanese onsen in a clean, contained, and relaxing environment. The hotel provides a helpful guide for first timers. It was soothing and restorative after a long day of travel...
We'll definitely come back!
The space is tight (we run out of space for luggage) and the light is slightly more dim. Nevertheless, it was still a wonderful stay.

Everything was clean, the breakfast was great and having a free public bath for me was gold. The free shuttle that takes you to a tourist site of choice was also convenient.
I even got a special letter from the staff when I told them that I was traveling with my mom to celebrate my graduation. There was a Korean staff too so for Koreans, extra comfort.
Thank you so much, I would definitely comeback if I could.
Nothing.

Wonderful
It’s central located and right across the street from a beautiful giant temple on a quiet street. Kyoto train station is only a 8 mins walk, where they have the JR line and many other subways. It’s a major train station. The rooms a very large by Japanese standards and the staff was amazingly friendly and extremely helpful. My wheelchair broke and I had a new one shipped to this hotel. They received it for me and helped me shipped my broken back to the store. Meanwhile they lent me a hotel wheelchair for free the 5 days stay and I was able to take it outside the hotel. The other 3 hotels I went to before this one only lend it to me while I was in the hotel. They helped me make restaurant reservations and get a taxi for me whenever I needed one. Everyone was super helpful and friendly from the guest services to the restaurant staff. They treated me like a VIP guest and on certain days they had a free bus taking you to sights nearby for free. Their breakfast on the first floor was good and very convenient and the free onsen was a plus. They allow guests with tattoos to use the spa and sauna for free which was another added bonus! I highly recommend this hotel! It’s a very small hotel and they try their best to give you a very personable service unlike very large hotels where you are just a number.
I found the towels in this hotels and the other 4 hotels I was at small and very thin. I’m from the US and mid range hotels always give you large thick towels, but that’s not the case in Japan. Also the refrigerator in the room is extremely small, almost like a toy.

Everything was perfect and the staff was amazing and helpful at all times.
Not that I don’t like , just a suggestion to make bookings for a private onsen at the hotel for more private experiences.

Wonderful
Great location close to Kyoto Station and right across from a temple. Service was exceptional, everyone was so nice and accommodating. The public bath on the first floor (larger size) was a huge plus - we didn’t expect there to be an outdoor bath, cool pool, AND sauna in addition to the traditional bath. Breakfast buffet was also good, lots of variety. Lovely stay overall!
The non-view rooms feel a bit outdated, but not too bad.

Good
Breakfast was good and staff were very nice. Beds were comfortable. I liked the onsite laundry machines, although it took 3 cycles to fully dry our clothes.
I didn’t like the smoking area inside the hotel. There was also smoke coming into our room from a separate area when we had the window open.
The onsen baths could have been cleaner. There was a lot of lint floating in one of the baths.

Good location, great staff.
The room is way too small, only one outlet by the bed. The place seems a little outdated. I was uncomfortable having breakfast on very sticky trays.
