About

Italy’s third-largest city, Naples features history, art, architecture and delicious cuisine. The city center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has cobblestone streets lined with archaeological treasures, including glorious palaces and ornate churches. The bountiful sea and rich volcanic soil combine with centuries-old culinary traditions to produce some of the country’s best dishes, street food and desserts. Elegant panoramas of the city are filled with breath taking frescos and incredible sculptures. Naples’ Mediterranean climate produces hot, dry summers with highs in the 80s and mild winters with low temperatures near 40 degrees.

Getting to and from Naples

Located approximately 6 kilometers northeast of the city, Naples International Airport is the largest airport in southern Italy. Public bus routes link the airport with the central bus station as well as the Piazza Garibaldi and Piazza Municipio. The air-conditioned Alibus has a limited number of stops. The local 3S bus is less expensive but takes longer as it follows a route that includes many backstreets. The 3S bus is not air-conditioned. Tickets can be purchased aboard either bus. The A56 motorway also connects the airport and city center.
