Batumi is a popular tourist resort on the Black Sea and is Georgia's second-largest city. Over 2,000 years old, it has a historic Old Town that has been restored as well as new novelty architecture buildings designed to look like the Acropolis and the Great Lighthouse of Alexandria, Egypt. Since 2007, there has been a great deal of investment in real estate in the area. Although it has palm trees and summers that range from warm to hot, its winters can be cold. It is also known for a lively nightlife and casinos and often hosts performers and DJs of international renown. There are museums for art, archaeology, technology and more, an astronomical clock and botanical gardens among other attractions.

Getting to and from Batumi

Batumi International Airport is just 2 km from the city. You can catch the 10 bus in front of the airport terminal and it goes all the way to the city center. The travel time is 20 minutes. The other option is a taxi, which takes about 10-15 minutes.
