The capital of Tuscany, Florence attracts millions of visitors each year who are drawn to the city by its art, its architecture and its reputation as one of the world's most beautiful cities. The Uffizi Art Museum and the city's historic center, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are not to be missed, and there are many other historic sites throughout the city including the Duomo di Firenze cathedral, the famous Ponte Vecchio bridge and more. Florence is also known for its fashion and, like much of Italy, for its cuisine.

Getting to and from Florence

Amerigo Vespucci International Airport is only about 4 km from Florence. The Busitalia SITA Nord "Vola in Bus" shuttle takes around 20 minutes to get to the Santa Maria Novella station in the city center. The last shuttle from the airport is at 1 a.m. and from the city center at 12:30 a.m. You can buy a one-way ticket from the bus driver. There is a fixed rate for taxis, and the journey is only about 15 minutes.
