A resort town in southern Israel, Eilat is located on the Red Sea. Its beaches are one of its main attractions, and it is a popular place for skin diving and scuba diving. For those who don't want to get into the water but still want a look at the undersea life, there is the Underwater Observatory. You can visit the Dolphin Reef, a research facility, and the Coral Beach Nature Reserve, which is also underwater. The Yotvata Hai-Bar Nature Reserve has been established to protect endangered animals and is open to the public as well. The city is surrounded by the Negev Desert, a beautiful area with opportunities for hiking and camel treks. At Tinma Park in the desert, you can visit the world's oldest copper mines.
