Poor
We had a really disappointing and honestly frightening stay here. The facilities are old and outdated, but the biggest issue was safety and how poorly everything was handled.
We booked a family room, and halfway through our showers the water heater broke. Instead of fixing it quickly, we were told to move to two separate double rooms. Our kids are too small to stay alone, so we had to split up as parents. At 8pm, after the kids were already asleep, we were forced to pack everything and move rooms. It was chaotic and stressful, especially with tired children.
When we finally arrived in the new room, things got worse. I received a serious electrical shock from a faulty lamp with exposed wiring. This wasn’t just a small static shock — it was a proper electrical shock that left my hand numb and temporarily paralyzed for several minutes. It was extremely scary, and I’m just grateful it happened to me and not to one of the kids. This is a major safety hazard and completely unacceptable in any hotel.
The door lock in the room also didn’t work properly and couldn’t latch, so we had to rely on a key. Everything in this place feels outdated and potentially dangerous. Even the pillows were worn out and old.
Patchy wifi.
No view, no charm, and absolutely no sense of safety. We did not feel comfortable staying here and would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially families with children.

Beautiful guest house surrounded by the most amazing garden. My room was very comfortable and had everything I needed. The breakfast was excellent with a lovely variety of cereals, fruit and meat to choose from. Very nice atmosphere all around, the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend this place, I will definitely be coming back.

Nice place with a lot of atmosphere. The room was nice with the balcony. The pool was nice. The garden was fantastic.
Anna, the owner was very friendly and we got many good advices from her.
The view was blocked by a tyre workshop. It looked fairly recent. During working hours it was quite noisy and took away a bit of the relaxed atmosphere from this beautiful house and garden.

The rooms were large and bright with a huge private deck overlooking the ocean. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
It is a bit difficult to walk to the centre/waterfront because the terrain is quite steep. Walking down would be fine but coming back up is hard.

Wonderful
Excellent friendly , knowledgeable owner management
The water system functions perfectly, but it is from my parents era and fortunately I know how to work it. Water can come through extremely hot, so supervision & care has to be taken with children.

It was a perfect stay. Our hosts were welcoming, informative, courteous and very friendly.
The accommodation was 100% suited to our needs.
The gardens were a delight with countless blooms and we enjoyed the swimming pool.
The location perfect for exploring Knysna by car or by foot.
I can't think of anything.

The breakfast was delicious, really well served, had a variety of options and was willing to accommodate a gluten-free requirement. The garden is lovely, filled with beautiful flowers and full of nature and the soft sounds of birds. It was very peaceful and so close to the main mall. The hosts were super accommodating and very helpful.

Disappointing
The room was very old. Very minimal furniture..just a room and bathroom basically. The beds were not comfy. We left a night early as we felt the owner watching us constantly. Parking was also not great.
