The waitresses in the dining area were nice and very attentive.
The staff made me feel greatly welcome when I arrived as a late check in and went out of their way to help me.
That it was not overly crowed with people waiting for a long time to be service.
The carpet throughout the building is dirty and in my room was so dirty the bottom of my slipper got dirty.
The heater made loud noises all night.
There were no washcloths in the bathroom, I as another person and they said the something.

the building had some historical background which was nice. the pool was nice and the gym (however limited) was sufficient. the room had a good air conditioner and the staff were very friendly and helpful. the restaurant on the premises had a good assortment of food.
the tv in the room was not a smart tv, nor did it have streaming capability so channel selection was a bit limited.

Location perfect. Near Rugby Stadium.
Had an issue on shuttle not available although did communicate with Hotel on 8th August to be arranged for us for the 16th. However, Jimmy and his team made a plan and all was sorted. Thank you to the transport team.

The gym was of decent size with a couple of treadmills, bicycles, an elliptical machine, an older standalone strength machine that allows for a couple of different exercises, and free weights that range from 2.5 - 25 kg.
This is a so-called 5-star hotel: The lobby and rooms could use a facelift as there was shabby carpeting throughout. There were no coffee machines in rooms (e.g. Keurig, Nespresso) - just instant coffee. No spa.

Amazing Experience at Holiday Inn Johannesburg!
I had the pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn in Johannesburg, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The hotel exceeded all my expectations, offering impeccable service and a comfortable environment. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional, always ready to assist with a smile.
The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep after a long day of exploring the city. The hotel's restaurant served delicious meals, and the breakfast buffet was a standout – fresh, varied, and catering to all dietary preferences.
The location was perfect, situated close to major attractions and business hubs, yet offering a quiet retreat from the city's hustle and bustle. The security measures in place also provided peace of mind, making the stay even more enjoyable.
Whether you're visiting Johannesburg for business or leisure, I highly recommend the Holiday Inn. It’s a great combination of comfort, convenience, and excellent service. I’ll definitely be returning!
