Gavin was super friendly since we booked the place. He followed up on our plans for travel, and called on the day that we traveled. Such a friendly guy. The location is near East rand mall and the place is peaceful and quiet. Uber foods was quick to deliver.
We arrived around 7 pm due to traveling and were received by the cleaning staff, no covid protocol was followed and no masks was worn. The lady struggled to get the sliding door open as it made an awful sound opening up. (might have to invest in some new wheels) The room was much smaller than expected. There was free wifi but our room did not pick it up, the reception was also really bad in the room that my phone went over to roaming. The fist night the air-conditioned did not blow out 16° clod air and it was really uncomfortably trying to sleep In December summer weather. There was an extra fan but sounded like a vacuum cleaner so we turned it off due to the noise. The next morning there was no warm water and the shower head was clogged up leaving only a small amount of water to come through. I spoke to Gavin who said he will move us to another room for our second night stay. When we arrived at 6 pm we were placed back into our old room. Gavin came to our room (unfortunately he also neglected to wear a mask) he explained that we should not place the air conditioning on 16° as the air conditioning freezes up and then cause the air not to blow cool air. He stood a while chatting to us then offered a bottle of wine. A nice gesture. I dont think this is a bad place to stay, maybe they just dropped the ball abit on this one. I do have a few recommendation.
1. Always follow covid protocols, it just puts guests at ease.
2. Please place more plugs available to charge laptop, use hair dryers, ect.
2. Make sure all equipment work before guests arrive. (Sliding door, air conditioning, water, shower)
