Linden is a well-situated and quiet suburb that also has a good selection of shops and restaurants available within walking distance from the Cherry Tree Cottage. Security at the cottage was good and parking on the property is available so you don't have to park on the road. And the clivias along the interior driveway were amazing!
I had specifically booked a B&B as I was coming in from overseas and didn't want to have to organize my own breakfast. I therefore wasn't impressed when I was told that they had downscaled and that breakfast was now an extra. Overall the facilities were well maintained, but they do need some sprucing up in some areas.

Almost everything! Facilities vastly overstated and on requesting an iron and hairdryer that were listed as available, I was told that a deposit was required and making loads of excuses. The TV is tiny and not worth trying to view. Rooms seriously needing upgrading. Received an email a day before arriving announcing that cleaning would only be done twice a week and bedding only changed on a stay longer than 7 days. Everything is old and owners uninterested. I heard they had sold, I do hope the new owners invest as it has potential. One morning there was loud abusive conversation in the room next door. My room was supposedly all on one level but accessed via the garden and with stairs. I have stayed in better accommodation in the area and will not be returning here

I liked the courtyard outside
The decor was not quite to my taste and the bed was really uncomfortable. Might need to get a new mattress.
There was also no blockout curtains on the front door so the light shone into the room at night. Not ideal sleeping conditions

Location in leafy suburb
No coffee or tea or sugar , just empty containers . random knives and forks and no spoons , old broken hangers in cupboard with someone’s left over baggage not collected , looks like a very long time ago. Toilet would not stop running, whole night . The tv is micro . The noise next door at 5 am , can hear everything and everyone, trying to get some sleep.

Rooms old and out dated. Not as per pictures. No complementary water and milk. Plastic glasses that do not much. Plunger in room, no coffees for plunger.

The Cherry Tree Cottage is like home away from home. The warmth, friendliness and professional and efficient welcome when you arrive at this place leaves an indelible mark on you. What is more, that caring feeling persisted throughout our stay. Marilyn and Rom make you feel almost like a prodigal child came home. We just love the place, nestled in serene tranquil surroundings.
We definitely know where our next stay in Johannesburg will be.
