THE MOST EMBARASSING SITUATION IS WHEN I WAS DECLINED BREAKFAST BECAUSE IT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN YOUR PRICE YET WHEN I BOOKED IT CLEARLY SAID WITH "GOOD BREAKFAST". THEY SAID IF I BOOKED DIRECTLY WITH THE HOTEL IT WOULD HAVE INCLUDED BREAKFAST AT R3200. I HAD MY COUSIN WHO WAS SICK AND A DIABETIC PATIENT. WHICH I INTENDED TO SPOIL BUT IT WAS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.
NO COMMENT, TO EMBARRASSED. THEY WANTED R250 PER PERSON . PARKING ON THE ROAD WAS UNACEPTABLE WHIST BOOKING IN. I CANCELLED MY FIST BOOKING WITH PROTEA HOTEL, UMHLANGA ROCKS THINKING THIS WAS MORE ELITE AND THE PICTURES OF BREAKFAST LOOKED AMAZING. I WOULD EXPECT FOR YOUR COMPANY TO INVESTIGATE.

The staff is destructive, cleaners to be specific, I think I you can hear the TV playing it means the people are inside you can't just budge in, my husband wasn't dressed at that time.. and I was in shower, that should tell you, they didn't change our bedding it had been soiled by hair mousse by mistake..

The location is well situated with a shopping mall and many restaurants in walking distance (across the road) in what felt like a safe area.
The in-room amenities seemed to not be completed for my stay as there was only shampoo and body lotion. There was no hand or body soap and the tea and coffee station seemed not not have been restocked.

The location of the hotel is perfect, 5 minute walk from my conference and just across the road from Gateway. Lots of great eating options at the mall and near the beach which is a 5 minute drive away. The area was quiet even at night which was great. The staff were superb. Rooms were clean and serviced well daily.
The breakfast spread was huge. I would have liked some options for halaal food which would have made it much better.
