The Mkhwanazi family had a wonderful stay at The Edward Hotel, and the experience exceeded our expectations in every way. The accommodation was exceptionally clean, spacious, and beautifully furnished. The elegant and classy décor created a welcoming atmosphere, while the comfortable beds ensured a restful and relaxing stay.
The breakfast was a definite highlight, offering an impressive variety of delicious options to suit different tastes. The quality of the food, presentation, and overall dining experience were outstanding.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the kitchen staff, especially Nzuzo and Nhlakanipho, who were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and always willing to assist with a smile. Their warm hospitality and excellent service made our mornings even more enjoyable.
Overall, The Edward Hotel provided an exceptional experience with its stylish accommodation, comfortable amenities, delicious breakfast, and outstanding staff. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality accommodation and excellent service in Durban, and we look forward to returning in the future.

The room was clean. The bed was comfortable.
However, I was not happy with the breakfast menu. The standard menu was the same for the four days I was there. They did not have a lot of options like mushrooms, hash browns, and cold ham. The cheese they had was not the best. They only had orange and apple juice, which I do not think was 100% juice. I guess it is not what you'd expect from a 4-star hotel.
The thing that upset me the most was the white lady who looked like a supervisor, by the juice stall in front of the swinging double doors, shoving and shouting at an employee, telling him to hurry up. She was wearing a navy skirt and a blue and white shirt. That was the worst experience I have ever had. It was very rude of her to behave like that in front of the customers.
For that reason, we will never book that hotel again and will make sure to discourage family and friends from staying there.
Witnessing a supervisor at the juice stall shouting at and shoving an employee was a shocking and unacceptable experience. Due to this hostile work environment and complete lack of professional decency, we will never return to this hotel and will ensure our family and friends avoid it entirely.

Disappointing
The security at the parking friendly as well as the porter.
The location was perfect, near the beach and restaurants.
At first, we were placed in a room that reeked of paint due to painting on that floor.
Once we were moved to a new room, the shower water was cold in the evenings around 6–7 pm and again in the early mornings around 4–5 am.

It’s still hasn’t lost its touch, it’s still beautiful.
The clean didn’t come back on Saturday, she said she will be back to refill tea etc and she didn’t.
Also saw a cockroach inside our bathroom.
