Warm and welcoming staff; we were personally greeted by Maarten, which made the stay feel extra special. The breakfast was excellent, the rooms were beautifully maintained, and the pool was absolutely lovely. Overall, a fantastic stay that we really enjoyed!

We had such a lovely time at Maartens Guesthouse in Fresnaye! The accommodation was exactly like in the photos—clean, stylish, and very comfortable. From the moment we arrived, Maarten made us feel incredibly welcome. He’s such a kind and helpful host, and you can really feel the warm, familiar atmosphere he creates in his guesthouse.
Our room was already ready early in the morning, so he kindly allowed us to check in much earlier than expected. He also let us store our luggage for the day after check-out, which was really convenient. During our stay, we decided to extend for one more night, and Maarten made it happen smoothly and without any hassle.
It was also a pleasure to meet the other guests—everyone was really friendly, which added to the relaxed and homey vibe. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in Cape Town. Highly recommended!
The area is really safe and we were walking down to the city centre and beaches most of the time. Other than walking, Uber is also a great and cheap option to get around in town.

Excellent breakfast, location was fine with great view of the ocean looking west. With a balcony able to relax in the afternoon overlooking the ocean.

Maarten Plil , and staff could have been more helpful and kind especially when my husband was unwell. They went far beyond the second mile in helping with transport etc. The swimming pool was lovely and refreshing and breakfast was lovely and fresh.
It did not bother us but no TV. Internet good. The standard conveyers do not work However this was sorted for us by Maarten

Great guesthouse in the Sea Point neighbourhood. The owner is really kind and gave us some nice tips on the city. We had a beautiful room was a huge balcony with sea view. Nice breakfast on the terrasse, and great pool with sea beds too. Excellent quality with a great homey feeling. Thank you !

Maarten Guesthouse is a great place to stay for a few days in Cape Town. We stayed here for six nights. Maarten is an incredibly kind host who helps with all your questions and makes sure you find your way around Cape Town. The room was good, and the bed was excellent! Highly recommended!
Nothing really, the only thing I can think of is to opt for luxury soap and shampoo in the bathroom :).
So just a great place to stay!

The care the staff put into your stay! It was very homey and comfortable. I also really appreciated the honesty bar and breakfast which meant we did not have to worry about what to eat or drink when we were quite tired. Really thoughtful stay, would definitely stay again..
