Firefly is set in a old plantation and has a wealth of charm. The grounds are gorgeous, well kept and Esra will walk you through the whole thing pointing put the various trees, plants and herbs. The accommodation of just 4 suites is really something. Double showers plus an outside shower, huge bed, dressing room with tea/coffee bits and bobs plus cloakroom with 2 sinks. Great views from the huge balcony/terrace and all immaculately kept.
The pool area is also great, decent size with double raised couch/lounging things at each end. We crashed out and read books here. The restaurant has great food, with a limited menu, but beautifully cooked and presented. We ate here 6 times in our 10 night stay. Breakfast is also included. Bar is great for pre and post dinner drinks.
However, like anywhere its not for everyone. For us, we liked the 20 min walk into port elizabeth for the many bars and restaurants. Some may prefer that on the doorstep. If you prefer to wave a wee flag to have your cocktail delivered, then maybe this isnt for you.

The room was spacious.
Too many to list. The staff were not friendly or accommodating, or helpful. I struggled with my bags from the beginning of my trip, to the end. They made no eye contact when speaking to me and I had to approach them first with a greeting. Not good.

DOGS DOGS DOGS!!! The breakfast was horrible. The dogs the manager has are all over the eating area. walking up to your table whether you want them to or not. I personally don't like to eat with dogs around me especially when they are scratching. I ordered an omelet with cheese, I am assuming the cheese was not real because it was oil by the time it got to the table. My fianc' ordered hard boiled eggs and they were running yolk. We said something and our server just said OH! For the price you would think they would've corrected it, but no. Kitchen closes after last "All-inclusive" guest eats which means at 7pm you can't get anything to eat.
The food was horrible. The dogs around you while your eating is disgusting. Kitchen closes no consideration for those who don't have a "meal plan" they don't even call and ask if you want to eat the kitchen is closing.

Rooms are absolutely gorgeous. Just like the photos
The room at night is extremely noisey from the wind. The windows aren't sealed properly because the curtains flap about even with them closed. It makes for an unsettling night sleep. Also a bit far from the main social area. Means taxi costs add up quickly. Also lighting on the road from the restaurant would make the trip less creepy.

the location of the property was excellent. 10 minute drive from port Elizabeth. it was tranquil, beautiful and the views were incredible! the rooms surpassed our expectations in terms of decor, cleanliness, space and views.
the beach is on the windward side of the island so collects a lot of seaweed when theres a bloom but honestly that didnt bother us as loved hanging out by the pool or visiting port Elizabeth
