Very Good
Ok I have to leave a review because I loved the staff at this hostel. They were so helpful and accommodating during my stay - from an issue in the dorm and letting me change dorms to my accidentally leaving two of my rings behind and they gathered them and held them until a friend of mine was able to pick them up. I booked this hostel to be near family - so that was my priority over staying closer to the historic area. It's less than a 10 minute walk down to the beach if you want to visit it and see some of the locals walking, swimming, and playing, but it's not a good spot for sunset watching if that's your aim. I was offered to move to the "6-Bed Mixed Dormitory Room" and that room was lovely, smelled nice, and the mattresses were new, although it didn't have curtains like the 10 person dorm, it was an upgrade in all regards. In the 6 person dorm, the locker is like a school locker so it barely fit my regular backpack but I made it work and my backpacking bag / my main one I just kept by my bed. There's a kitchen with all the different kettle, utensils, pots, and pans that you'd need to cook something - I easily kept my stuff labeled and cooked when I wanted. There's a paid breakfast if that interests you as well. One day I worked in the common area on my laptop and the wifi worked great as well. I was also always happy with the water pressure and the cleanliness of the bathroom. There's a cute patio area in the back for socializing too. During my stay, I met an Argentinian, Brazilian, and Mexican, as well, so that was fun to meet people from all over.
I had originally booked the "Single Bed in Mixed Dormitory Room" which is a 9 bunk room that each column has 3 beds high. I had a middle bunk but apart from something really smelly happening in that room, the mattress wasn't as comfy nor the pillow as the 6 Dorm Bedroom. The locker space was massive though and there was a shoe rack area, so that's a plus. The thing I actually really didn't like was that there was something really smelly in there from before I arrived and that I could smell when they showed me to my room. That smell persisted for 2 nights and was solved by staff with a deep cleaning, so my only negative is that that happened to begin with but I think a previous guest was responsible for the problem, but once it came to their attention, they let me change rooms with no additional charge, in the effort to make sure I had a happy and pleasant stay and for that, I'm very appreciative and did in the end.

Good
It is quite affordable for this city and this particular neighborhood.
Los Pocitos area is said to be one of the safest in Montevideo. Also the hostel is located around 5' on foot from the beach, which is great!
The kitchen is well equipped, it has two big fridges and two sinks for washing dishes. The common areas are very spacious; the beautiful backyard and the living room.
My bunk bed included a socket to charge and a light. Also the stair was probably the most convenient stair that I ever used at a bunk bed.
The hostel is very beautiful overall. I really liked how it was designed and all the outdoor spaces it includes.
I had a great communication with the team of the hostel through the booking.com chat regarding questions that I had.
I don't think there are enough bathrooms/ toilets for the amount of people this hostel can accommodate.
The wifi was really bad. I ended up using my data.
The dorms get really packed when they’re fully booked. The room isn’t big enough for nine people, there are three-tier bunk beds, and the floor is full of luggage.

Good
well located, great facilities, truly amazing staff. Awesome vibes with the other guests too
?♂️ the same risk always with hostels—loud people late, people getting up at weird hours, etc.

This is my first negative review ever, normally I leave only positive ones, but this place was that bad I just could not leave it like that. First of all, for a hostel, almost none of the staff spoke English. The place was dirty, the beds were not very good and it was very dirty everywhere. The bathrooms were always dirty and overflowing, which was disgusting. People in the hostel were also a bit peculiar as noone wanted to socialise - I suspect a fair amount of them live in the hostel permanently, which is weird to me. The location was OK in general, but I expected more from the surrounding area - it did not have anything going on in April.

Wonderful
What I did like the most was the location and the beautiful patio .
Also the two main bathrooms almost brand new and the staff try to keep them as much clean as possible during all the day ( sometimes in hostels could be difficult ).
Despite all the staff is really welcoming and helpfull , I've experienced an annoying episode. One day there was a late / early check in ( 4 / 5 am ) and the guy from the staff came in the room talking loud and turning on all the lights . It wasn't professional and unrespectful with the rest of guests who were visibly resting.
So, I just recommend to be more sensitive and pay more attention to this aspects.

Good
Great location, and staff friendly and helpful.
The budget dorm have 3 tier bunk bed, which is what you pay for, but it means the room is tiny and there is no space for all the bags. And the lockers won't fit a small bag, so uncomfortable stay

Good
I stayed in January 2025, I chose the private room; everything was very good, considering that it is a hostel, since the priority is the meeting with other travelers, then some amenities that can be found in a hotel are left aside, such as access to the room in this case is by stairs and is complicated with the suitcase, a bedside table is missing and the bathroom shower can be improved to avoid wetting the entire floor. The rest of the hostel is very comfortable, both the common areas and the location and the breakfast is very tasty. I would come back.
Ugh, I wrote it into the things I liked.
