Small boutique hotel in an upscale part of Montevideo. It is in a quiet residential neighborhood, steps away from the beach and a short ride to the airport too. It has a gourmet restaurant with excellent food. The breakfast is wonderful, everything is made fresh from high quality ingredients. The owners are very attentive and welcoming and happy to answer any questions one might have about life in Montevideo or Uruguay in general. The hotel is small and cosy, the rooms are comfortable and well appointed. It has a very charming vibe, antique furniture and many very interesting paintings by Uruguayan artists. There is a lovely garden and a nice pool to take a dip in too. A real gem in every way. We stayed for a week and loved it.

We decided to stay at the hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary. And at the end we really enjoyed it. It's a very beautiful and well maintained property with lovely staff. It has a lovely restaurant which we definitely can recommend. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner there. The place has a unique atmosphere and stands out of the most hotels we've ever been to

This amazing small hotel has beautiful views, gorgoeus rooms and grounds. The on-site restaurant was amazing. The food was delicious for both breakfast and dinner. The staff is outstanding, and we plan on staying here again soon!

The hotel is a piece of art in itself. Beautiful architecture, well decorated and still very comfortable. Amazing bed with a generous amount of good pillows and very spacious bathroom. In addition, the hosts are incredibly thoughtful and helpful.

Absolutely beautiful house, decorated with love and taste by its owners. Our room and bathroom were great. The breakfast was excellent and served in a lovely garden room. Highly recommended.

It is a great place. very safe and most secured area in Montevideo. the owner an englishman Mr. Mark and his beautiful wife Carolina very friendly and helpful . you feel like home when you are there. spcaious rooms.closer to the beach. Great breakfast and on Thursdays great dinner with an external chef . Hospitality is the real name to the this hotel staff.The beach is just a stone throw away. supermarkets and cafe very close-by

I decided to spend some time and write this review because the hosts of this little gem were exceptional. The room and the common spaces were all very clean and had an artistic touch. You do not get the feeling of staying in a hotel or an airbnb. The great hosts along with the property welcomes you in a relaxed atmosphere, which is ideal for families. The breakfast was great and we enjoyed the swimming pool a lot. I definitely recommend this place.

Gorgeous home in a beautiful neighborhood--it was such a great experience to see a home like this from the inside! The owners are super responsive and gave great advice before we even arrived! I loved the rapport they have with the young people who work there and it creates a really lovely, friendly atmosphere. The room was beautiful, spacious and so comfortable! Great bed and super soft sheets. And the food OMG!! One of the best dinners I've ever had with beautifully prepared fish and interesting combination of vegetables. The breakfast was also fantastic--freshly made and it was so nice to hang out in the garden. Bonus is bikes are available to ride around the neighborhood and down the Rambla. Loved the time here!

The place is wonderful. The richness of details in this house captivated me, really impressive. Hosts' attention is impeccable, very helpful and polite. The breakfast, amazing. The house is located in the best and most opulent neighborhood of montevideo, carrasco. We just loved it.

My family and I booked three rooms at Alquimista and had a wonderful stay. The rooms are very well decorated and clean, the owners and their staff are very nice and helpful, and they have a wonderful restaurant! The location is also great. highly recommend!

Breakfast was excellent. Very good expresso coffee with fresh orange juice, scones, croissants, toasts, fresh fruit, and the best scramble eggs I ever had (cooked with butter and herbs, it was delicious).
Also had a wonderful lunch (pesca del día/ Corvina served with vegetables, and my wife grilled vegetables over hummus) in a peacefully back yard.
Staff was great and the owner was very informative about options to enjoy Carrasco area
