Disappointing
The location is convenient to the University and to anything you need in Salt Lake.
The king suite was definitely dated with the following issues: a broken toilet seat (just needs to be screwed on), the sofa bed (which is why we booked the suite) was actually dirty and seemingly mold affected on mattress. We didn’t use. The lock on the door (the metal bracket style hardware one) was missing half of it like it had been torn off so it didn’t work. I called the front desk about that because I do like to use those and the lady was very annoyed with my calling about it. I was polite and mentioned we paid for a room and the lock is a feature on the door but ours didn’t have a working one and she said there wasn’t a thing she could do. It was just unfriendly and I didn’t appreciate it. Whatever! The king bed was very comfortable and the rest of the hotel is clean. The breakfast workers are SO nice!

I was grateful Marriott was able to have our family rooms next to each other. It made the trip much easier.
We found a great breakfast place just down the street on the left (east side of street) - Hash Kitchen (on Foothill Drive a couple blocks toward I-80)
I would like parking included in booking fee. The lot was fine, next to hotel, but I'd rather have that amenity included in the total room fee.

Location was good.
Front desk staff uncaring. We had been flying for 18 hours. Arrived five hours before check in. Asked for early check in and was told by two front desk staff that we were in a wait list. Sat inobby of clear sight of staff. Room was ready but never told. Sat for 4.85 hours only going up to desk when seeing others who came in after us get their rooms. Would never return.

Disappointing
The parking is through some privacy-invading 3rd-party website with a lengthy, terrible privacy policy and terms of service; they will store your credit card info (you can't opt out), they won't accept any prepaid cards, and they will sell all your personal info. How on earth did the world turn into this? That you need 3rd-party scammers to pay for parking at a hotel?
If you forget something in your room, it's another problem - again, you have to make a claim via a 3rd-party website, agree with their TOS, etc., and even then you get to the reception after everything was arranged, the item was found, and you notify them in advance, and there is nothing ready, and some rude receptionist starts patronizing you about the procedure (which was already completed!!!!) and claiming that it will take forever in an unpleasant voice? SERIOUSLY???
Is there something wrong with Marriott in general? Or Marriott in Salt Lake City? Because I asked another one a simple question and they ignored it for 2 weeks. I'm trying a different chain next time.

I don’t recommend the breakfast buffet. Not sure ordering off the menu is still an option. There might be a big party happening in the hallway and in a party venue nearby well after their stated 10 pm quiet hours. If so, do not phone, but go directly to the desk.

A very nice building with nice views, and a long walk or short drive to the university. The gym was small but had what I needed, including dumbbells.
The rooms were rather dated, especially the bathroom. Shower was awkward to use.
