My husband and I are local but this is one of our favorite places to stay for a quick getaway. We’ve been here 7 or 8 times over the last few years. It’s always great- cozy and wonderful. We love the fireplaces in the lobby with the comfy loungers and couches. We love the piano players that are often playing in the lobby. We love the pool and the little coffee/pastry shop. The rooms are spacious and nice. Overall just a beautiful place to stay.
We do prefer the Tower Rooms, the others (the ones outside of the tower) are a bit outdated and feel less nice. I wish parking didn’t cost extra, I always hate when hotels especially charge extra for parking when you’re already paying to stay the night.

Was totally on track to give a five star review to this property. Wonderful staff, well appointed, reasonable rates, plenty of services, beautiful lobby area, spacious room and beautiful grounds - the whole bit!
Then, I packed my room and went out a different exit to my car in the parking lot than I had been using.
I literally fell out of the door with my luggage in hand. That outswinging exit door opens over about an 8” step – which in my state is completely illegal: Any type of building - commercial or residential - must have a landing, at least the width of the door, and at the same level as the inside floor. I cannot believe the city of Salt Lake approved that configuration!
Fortunately, I was not injured, but that current fact is totally depending what happens with my wrenched back overnight tonight – and it really completely changed my opinion of the entire hotel in that instant.
For the record, I was in building five, and it’s the southwest exit in that building.

The room was very clean, that's definitely a plus. The location is important for us; we use "Tracs" several times every day & most of the things we do are in the downtown area so it was really nice to be so close to the trains. We also like the 8000 building & prefer to have a room there when we stay. The coffee shop is truly a delight every time we eat there. It is just perfect for what we like to eat & the staff are very efficient, & it is so well organized. The food is delicious every single time.!!! The manager on duty in the coffee shop on the evening of 11/14 was amazing, he came & checked to see how our meal was, cleared the table for us & when we left, he was taking room service orders. Staff must love working with him as he is so helpful during busy periods.
For the first time, we had multiple issues that we felt were not up to the standards we usually see at Little America. First was the TV, we had problems every single day. We knew the system was being re-worked, but we missed a portion of multiple shows we tried to watch each night. Some of the channels were worse than others & kept cutting out & going blank for a portion of the show. Very frustrating to watch most of a show & miss the ending. Also ,one day we did not receive any maid services, beds were not made, towels were not replaced, no new coffee & the kleenex box was empty. Called the front desk & they sent someone to replace the kleenex we asked for & the next day we got maid service. Also, we were unable to use the elevator in the underground parking area to move our suitcases, etc., from the car to our room. Had to carry everything up the stairs, no luggage trolley available. The woman at check in talked us into taking a more expensive room at an extra $20 per night; I don't really think it was worth it.
