This was the best hotel by far which we stayed at during our three week trip to the States. We had a very large comfortable room with a good view over the city and the extensive communal areas were very well maintained, including an excellent outside pool area. The food and service in the main hotel were both good.
Nothing much - the restaurant could have had a bit more ambience, being a little cafe like in appearance, but not a problem for us.

The pool was great the room ok
The first room I went to the fridge was leaking all over the floor so we changed rooms and the room we got was ok the bathroom mirror's we're dirty and there was dust on the tables but other then that it was good

The Grand America Hotel was nice with a comfy bed and a big room. I loved the view of the courtyard. Another great thing was the lounge area where they had live music in the evening. I enjoyed spending time there. The location is also great, it's within walking distance to the City Creek Center mall.
The fridge in my room was super noisy and kept me awake at night. It was also completely filled with overpriced stuff, so there was no room to put my own bottle of water or anything else. That made it basically useless. It also bothered me that there wasn't even one free bottle of water provided, just some really pricey ones in the minibar. That felt unfair considering how much it costs to stay here.
The shower didn't have a removable head, so every time I took a shower my hair got wet even when I didn't want it to. The toiletries were pretty basic: just shampoo, conditioner, soap, and a shower cap. They didn't have simple things like cotton buds or Q tips, which was surprising.
I also tried the indoor pool and jacuzzi, but the chlorine smell was so strong it was hard to breathe, and I had to leave quickly.

I liked pretty much everything about the property. It is maintained scrupulously, it has any amenity one may need, and it was very peaceful.
My only complaint was overly soft pillows. I had to work hard to come up with any complaint at all. It was close to perfect as one might find.
