Disappointing
The hotel itself and our room were clean. The hallways had a beautiful scent which was welcoming. The location was great and the valet and cleaning people couldn't be more polite and friendly.
When it comes to hotel industry, a collection of small details is what creates the overall experience. Unfortunately, we noticed various negative details that in my opinion, cannot be ignored. Carelessly cut carpet with loose edges popping out from underneath the walls, lighting by the bed with different tones of light, very sloppy caulk work in the shower area, broken shower handle etc were some of these negative aspect.
I noticed a price tag of $3 on each bottle of water (total of 2 bottles) that were in the kitchenette area. For a nearly $300 per night stay, free drinking water should be included?!
The next morning at the breakfast I noticed this hotel has their own unique system when it comes to dining. You go to the restaurant by the lobby, order what you want and then the restaurant sends a bill to the hotel and they will include that in your room charge... however, I learned this as we were checking out. Let's flashback an hour earlier before I got the above info...
We went to have breakfast, we ordered, we ate and then the waiter brought us a check! Since our room was breakfast included, I was confused as why we are getting a bill! The waiter explained that we have $30 credit for breakfast ($15 per guest) but we must pay the bill now and then take the receipt to the hotel and they will reimburse us the $30! We did as instructed but the young lady at the check out counter said that is not how it works and explained the rest... I asked how can this be fixed and she threw her shoulders in the air and said there's nothing she can do and I must go speak to the restaurant manager...
If handling a small issue for your guest is more than you can manage, I believe I'd simply want to leave and not go back there again.

Very Good
Had an amazing chill weekend at the Statler for my wife's birthday. The bed was super comfortable, we melted into it. The bathroom is huge and had a wonderful rain shower head. The tub is also very cool, and one of the reasons we stayed at this hotel. It does have the drain in a weird place, in the middle of the tub, but wonderful for soak if you don't mind the drain placement.
The very BEST thing about this hotel is the staff and their commitment to making sure guests have top tier experience. We needed a bottle opener and Michele at the front desk gave us her personal one. Skyler also gave amazing service and made sure we got our food delivery. I had the best Kentucky Mule of my life at the roof top bar, which has a great lounge area and pool. The view is good but the vibes are better.

This will be the only hotel I stay at in Dallas from now on. 5 stars all the way across the board. There was so much to do we didn't even want to leave the hotel.
The only issue we would say if there was one is the overpriced parking.

The breakfast was good. Staff friendly at front desk and at over-easy for breakfast. Valet company very friendly. Showers decent.
More updated room. I was in king premium for 400 dollars and very underwhelming. Only 1 chair at table and I saw other rooms had more. No refrigerator, no microwave. 400 for room and you don’t even give EVERYONE complimentary water. The director of guest service not friendly or accommodating. BUT the regular staff was!

Nothing
Room had no hot water and had to switch rooms at 11:30 PM. No management on site to take care of issues. Management never reached out to check on our 2nd room. Broken light switches, window curtains didn’t work. Worst hotel ever and Motel 6 would have been better

The restroom was nice, the room was clean. Pool was great.
They didn’t have Valet parking for vehicles above 6’6
They had a parking garage a block over which was a fine walk but a little inconvenient.

Very nice area where it’s at in Dallas and you can tell it’s a old hotel but still nice outside and inside
The sewage smell on the floor we was staying on was very unsettling couldn’t smell it in the room but definitely in the hall way also no hot water in the room we was in also our view was the view of a parking garage when I asked for a view the stay was just eh alright definitely not worth the 700 bucks For me and my wife’s anniversary tried to pick a nice place for our anniversary and this place let me down even when I mentioned the problems at checkout all they did was take care of my valet big deal ?

The Tub wouldn’t hold water and we informed the staff at the front desk the first day and they said it would be fixed. The issue wasn’t fixed so I said something the next day and it never got resolved out two night stay.

We really enjoyed having both pools accessible to us as that was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. We also really liked having several food and drink options on site all of which we had a good experience at.
We felt like the rooms having the description of a mini bar was deceiving. It was only a coffee station and nothing else. Our room did not have anything related to a mini bar and did not have a fridge which may have been our mistake to believe those things were related.

CAUTION: This hotel will NOT be able to accommodate your vehicle if you drive to Dallas. Their garage is extremely small and we were told that we could park the vehicle at our own risk that the top of our pickup truck would be “scalped”. They even told us that they have issues with luxury cars because the dip in their garage is so low. Then we were directed to park in another garage owned by the city but there was a risk of getting our catalytic converter stolen. The hotel staff was completely clueless to how to handle the situation and therefore they weren’t helpful at all. In fact they were very dismissive and rude. Talking over us and shrugging their shoulders. When I called the manager he had the same attitude. Talking over me on the phone and quickly rushing to get me off the phone. I WOULD 100000% NOT recommend this hotel.

I liked how nice the staff was.
I was stuck in the elevator for about 25 minutes and had to be rescued by the fire department. I was not compensated anything for my troubles.
