Location wise I liked how easy it was to get to and from the expressway. Breakfast was very good, maybe a bit overpriced but enjoyable nonetheless.
I had difficulty sleeping due to how much I could hear people walking/talking/yelling/arguing in the hallway. Sounds from the street and near by tram were also louder than I would have liked.

Location and ease to express way!
For the price, our connecting suite was stale smelling and definitely older. Heat in King room never worked and phone in queen room was also broken. Service came once to try and fix but never returned.

I grew up in Dallas and have known the Doubletree for quite some time. It is an older property, but do not let that fool you. It has been fixed up and is very nice. We stayed over Thanksgiving in a corner room with a king size bed. It was clean with upgraded furniture and had a great view. The bathroom is small compared to today's new hotels with large double-sinks, etc. However, the shower was powerful and exhilirating. The room did not feel old at all and the facility is kept in very good condition. We primarily slept there but did have a night cap at the lobby bar with some food. We enjoyed that.
Big Wins - Free parking. This is huge. You can park right in front and there is a guard at night. In fact, they close one entrance in the evenings so you have to stop and chat with the guard to verify that you are staying at the hotel or with someone who is staying there. Did I mention there is free coffee in the lobby daily? Ha! I will add that we always felt safe; there were a lot of families in for the holiday and Cowboys game.
To sum it up, this hotel is not a destination hotel; you don't stay here like a resort. However, it is an excellent hotel for visiting and seeing Dallas. The location is perfect with easy highway access and minutes to great shopping at North Park, awesome restaraunts & bars, getting on the Katy Trail for a walk or going downtown or to SMU. It is very clean. The staff was extremely nice and accomodating and I would deifinately stay here again.
The coffee in the lobby is average, but it is hard to complain as it is free,
