Good
The biggest asset of the hotel is its location. Very convenient and close to everything. The staff was very accommodating and helpful at all hours of the day.
Wouldn't recommend if you are claustrophobic, though. The hallways are a bit cramped, and so are the elevators.

Pleasant
The area and the price were reasonable, could have been cheaper considering how outdated the hotel is and how dirty the carpet, and furniture is.
The dirty carpet, headboard of the bed etc.

Poor
Location and price
No breakfast. They were doing works in reception. Reception staff very off hand. It's a trendy design that looks good in the photos - now aging and badly maintained.

Extremely disappointing stay – serious problems with the room
Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing and I cannot recommend it.
The central air-conditioning system in the room was not working. Instead, there was a fan/cooling unit placed on the windowsill immediately next to the bed. As shown in the attached photos, because of its position, it blew cold air directly onto the bed, towards my back and head, making it practically impossible to use while sleeping.
The window could not be opened at all, meaning there was no way to get fresh air into the room. The choice at night was therefore either to sleep in a stuffy, unventilated room or to keep this unit running and have cold air blowing directly onto us throughout the night.
I specifically asked the hotel to send a technician and to help with the central air-conditioning system. Hotel staff came to the room but simply told me that it could not be fixed and advised me just to file a complaint to him. I did so, but nothing was resolved and no solution was offered.
The cleanliness was also unacceptable. The carpet was visibly very dirty and had an unpleasant smell. Combined with the lack of ventilation and the inability to open the window, this made the room particularly uncomfortable.
In addition, the bathroom door could not be properly closed and had no functioning lock, creating an obvious privacy issue.
The photos attached to this review show the cooling/fan unit and its position directly beside the bed.
Overall, the room failed to provide basic standards of comfort and cleanliness: non-functioning central air conditioning, no fresh-air ventilation, a cooling unit blowing directly onto the bed, a dirty and unpleasant-smelling carpet, and a bathroom door without a functioning lock.
Considering the condition of the room and the hotel's failure to resolve the problems after they were reported, a rating of 1/10 is fully justified.

Location was great, very close to Central Park and Times Square.
The rooms were quite small but that was ok as we spent most day out and about.

Location
- we were put in the wrong room, the room got changed, however it is still the wrong room (no sofa bed, we booked a room with a sofa bed and still didnt get a sofa bed)
- stained bath/ mould? (picture to support)
- hair on wall in bathroom not been cleaned even though cleaner has been in everyday (picture to support)
- wifi not working since last night, we queried this today and the man at the desk claimed it was worked, we checked and logged in again and it is not. this has turned out to be all week.
- stains on carpet (picture to support)
- keycard stopped working yesterday, so we had to go back downstairs after we came back from our day and the SAME happened today
- blind/ window shutter fell on me, when someone came to fix it he said that there was something actually missing from the mechanism, causing it to fall ON me (photo of bruise on my arm to support)
- overall cleanliness is not good

The location is definitely perfect—right in the heart of Manhattan, with the subway right there
I called to ask about parking and never got a response; I ended up paying more than $200 for parking. I paid for two rooms with breakfast included, but I didn’t get it either when I went down to the small snack bar—since they don’t have a restaurant, the person in charge told me it was “closed.”

The Shoreham Hotel enjoys an exceptional location on West 55th Street, just steps from Fifth Avenue, placing guests in the heart of Manhattan’s most iconic shopping and cultural district. Its position allows effortless access to landmarks like Central Park, Rockefeller Center, and premier luxury boutiques. Staying here means being surrounded by the best of New York City within minutes.
I was disappointed with several aspects of my stay at The Shoreham NYC. The mattress was uncomfortable, the carpet showed noticeable wear, and the bathroom felt outdated. The bedroom itself was quite small, and the window shades did not block enough light to allow for restful sleep. Breakfast was not included, and the front desk staff often seemed distracted—focused on their computers or talking among themselves—rather than greeting guests or offering assistance. They would benefit from proper training in guest interaction and hospitality standards. Additionally, there were no promotions, coupons, or marketing efforts encouraging guests to visit the White Olive restaurant, which felt like a missed opportunity.
