Loved the funky vibe, live jazz music, cinema was amazing, comfy beds and good toiletries. Derek was friendly and helped us get a cab to the airport. When we did get to have a drink the drinks and oysters were great.
Did not like the receptionist when we checked in on Saturday. She was very rude and not helpful when we asked if we could sit somewhere and have a drink as we had seen the hostess and she said they had no space until 10pm! Advised the bar and restaurant is separate to the hotel. Told us we could pay $40 each to enter the club downstairs to sit and have a drink and watch music! She was very short with us. Think there should be an area you can sit if you are at least staying in the hotel. There was nowhere to sit so we left and had to make a table reservation the following evening. I assumed when I booked this hotel as a guest you could sit and have a drink in the lobby but this was not the case.

Plenty to do inside the venue (if you can get a reservation) music, bar, pool, movie theater, etc. it would be nice if some of this was exclusive or first offer to guest because we couldn’t do any of that.
Most the managers were fine but there was one guy who screamed at us for taking photos. We later saw other people doing the same thing and he said nothing. We also didn’t get to reserve spots because it was so booked another reason I think the amenities shouldn’t be open to the public; especially for the price of stay.

We got a room upgrade; I loved the room, the feel of the place and the location.
I would have liked to be able to control the room temperature better. Unfortunately, there was construction in the neighborhood and some work continued through the night that made it difficult to sleep.

AC unit was crazy noisy, couldn’t get temp right and the fan speed would change and was too high.

staff were highly unprofessional and rude
• Inappropriate comment from the night manager suggesting we “have a boys weekend, put pillows between each other.” • Unprofessional reluctance to assist with a room change, including the remark “I wouldn’t want to do that.” • Hostile response when we confirmed the room change, saying “you guys are making my life difficult.” • Final comment as he left the room telling us not to unpack because we “have to leave tomorrow,” which felt unwelcoming. • Refusal to grant a short late checkout to facilitate the room move, paired with a threat of being charged “another half day” if we did not leave immediately. • Additional booking taken with ID and card provided, yet room not ready at 3pm check-in time. • Room still not ready by 5pm with no explanation other than “we’re busy.” • Dismissive and aggressive behaviour from the staff member when questioned about the delay. • Staff member telling us “if you don’t like it you stay somewhere else,” which was unacceptable and unprofessional.

Arrived at 3:30 - well beyond check in and the room was not ready. Was told my luggage would be brought up at night when i returned - it was not. Was then given an accessible room which made me feel like an afterthought after the invinvenience of being turned away at time of check in. Water was turned off without notice between 4-6am - i had to leave at 5am to catch a flight... so... yeah, not great.

The light switches are knobs and some in my room were significantly distorted and crooked from overuse but lack of maintenance. They still turned the lights on. My major sort of issue was that I could hear the live music from the lobby all the way up in my room. I realize live jazz is one of the reasons someone would opt to stay here, and it does stop at 10 pm, but I could hear it over my own music so I’d have to wear headphones in my own room, several floors above the lobby.
