The Pierre, A Taj Hotel is located across from Central Park at 61st Street. A part of the New York City skyline with its copper mansard roof, The Pierre offers guests white glove luxury service. The hotel is close to high-end shopping destinations and is only steps away from Bergdorf Goodman. The boutiques of Fifth & Madison Avenues are in close proximity. The Pierre has played host to many society events since opening in 1930. The hotel's restaurant, Perrine, offers seasonal modern American cuisine with daily specials inspired by Pierre culinary classics. The hotel also offers a bar/lounge, Two E, with traditional afternoon tea by day and live jazz by night every Thursday through Saturday. Located at the intersection of Midtown and the Upper East Side, white gloved elevator attendants, a Les Clefs d'Or concierge team and trained housekeepers help maintain the quality of service. The Pierre offers a variety of exclusive experiences for young travelers as well. A host of child-friendly amenities await - from special treats to movies, toys and special museum passes on demand. The Museum Mile is 1.7 mi away. The Central Park Zoo is a short walk from the hotel, and the Concierge team can work with their partners at the Central Park Conservancy to organize special experiences for children. On arrival at the hotel, The Pierre requires a credit card pre-authorization to cover the value of your stay plus $200 per day to cover additional incidentals. The authorization will hold the funds until check-out, at which time the amount actually incurred during the stay will be charged.

The location is wonderful and the staff is exceptionally kind and strives to make you feel at home.
It is outdated. It is too expensive for what it offers. No modern amenities in the room. Not even a bottle of water is offered.

Very polite staff in the reception,
1.Special personal in the one elevator, they try to connect, asking... 2. Breakfast prepaid -it was not a breakfast-hotel gave only 46$ per person deposit (but not include tax and tip)-nobody explain. When we check out we received extra bill for tips and taxes for breakfast. Better not pay for breakfast for advance -chipper and never mind . This is fraud from Hotel , perhaps deception. 3.06:00-08:00 in the morning no fruits as promise , no chairs, very formal. We understood that Hotel would like save money. 4.very cold in the bar, first flor and we seek.

The building and location are still stunning.
I've stayed at Taj hotels for years, and people choose Taj for its warm, attentive hospitality. On my August stays at The Pierre, that was missing. My bathroom door wouldn't close, and the hot water was unreliable. These are basic things at any hotel, let alone one at this price. Breakfast had also dropped all the key Indian items, which for a Taj property is hard to understand. The building and location are still stunning, but at over $2,000 for my stays I expected the Taj standard, and I didn't get it.

Very disappointing; my expectations were very high. It was impossible to get ironing service at night—a very basic amenity in hotels of this caliber. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, but the worst part was the staff: rude, unpleasant, unsmiling, unhelpful, and uninterested in assisting. They were employees who simply didn't care about the guests or the hotel. I won't be returning, and it’s a waste of your money.
