Old school lovely extras like robe, slippers!! Free nice breakfast in nice lounge. Free coffee/tea always! Wine and cheese hour. Luggage hold. Nice front desk. Easy to get places from hotel.
Plastic plates and cutlery at breakfast. Disposable everything. Keurig coffee with disposable servings. Would really appreciate more sustainable efforts - reusable plates and silverware, it's classier too!

Wonderful
Very central, just off Times Square and around the corner from a metro station with theatres close by (one directly opposite). It is a small hotel with a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. All staff from concierge to maintenance staff were so helpful. Every evening for happy hour there was free wine served in reception which was a lovely treat before leaving for the evening. Also there was free coffee and tea ( and chocolates) available 24 hours. We absolutely loved this after a day of exploring. The room was a good size with plenty of storage (cupboard and drawers). Bed was extremely comfy! Bathroom was also roomy with a large walk in shower. The complimentary soap/shower gel/body lotion etc was L’Occitane - gorgeous scent!! We enjoyed the continental breakfast with a wide variety of bagels, bread for toasting, croissants, muffins, doughnuts. Granola and yogurt and a selection of fruit was also available.
The only downside during our stay at The Pearl was one of the two lifts was out of order for the duration of our 6 night stay. We did have some long waits and a few times resorted to climbing six flights of stairs.

Pleasant
Room cleaning and stuff was ok
Breakfast was well below the expectation, with limited choices and far away to be a continental breakfast. As an example, some of the bagel were also affected by mold! It's a shame if you consider a 4 star hotel...

Location, room, bagels were good
The pillows were a weird size and hard as a rock and way too tall. Impossible to sleep on. Also lack of mirrors. One mirror over sink. None in room, no full length mirror. Makes it hard for 2 people to get ready for a night on the town

The location was great because it was near the cruise pier.
The air conditioner was not working in the room. The hotel did provide us with a fan for the night.

Very centrally located hotel with clean and spacious rooms. Comfortable beds. Friendly and helpful staff.
Poor and low quality breakfast. Had I known this before I would have opted for a reservation without breakfast.

Good location. Good size rooms. Not too large.
Staff uninterested in guests. Spoke to each other or on the phone. Not alert at all to needs.

Wonderful
Location excellent just off Times Square & bordering Hell's Kitchen giving choice for eating. We were on the front so noisy but most places are in NY. Only thought would be a seating area in the bedroom but I appreciate space is a luxury. Breakfast had no lactose free options ie sunflower spread/lactose free milk so was limiting but water on granola was fine. Esteban on reception was very helpful as was Maraud on the door. Overall excellent choice of hotel - would recommend & return
A lift was out of action so it took some time but when fixed it should be fine.

The location was perfect. The staff was very accommodating. I had a gift basket that arrived early and was held until our arrival; when we were able to check in. The happy hour of white and red wine was a nice touch; after museums during the day before off to dinner, theater, and a jazz club. A gem of a hotel.
There was only 1 of the 2 elevators in order during the duration of our stay.

Wonderful
We got a superior king and the room was huge and well appointed - lots of space for an extended stay, I could easily do my HIT workout in it. Very comfortable, quiet, good amenities. The shower was huge, my husband is tall and he appreciated it tremendously. The room had lots of electrical outlets, fast Wifi, a nice desk area, really comfortable in general.
The breakfast was terrible, don't waste your time in NY eating breakfast there, you might think you're saving money, but you're just missing out on having a great experience eating somewhere else, it doesn't have to be expensive, but anything would be better - go to Junior's. I guess if you have small children you might want to grab them a piece of fruit or a yogurt, but as an adult, don't do it. Also, the hotel has only 2 elevators and one was broken the entire time we were there (9 nights total with two separate bookings) it was incredibly inconvenient for everyone, including staff. They need a third elevator, or they need to ensure that the two are always working. I can't fully recommend it as a business hotel unless they fix their elevator situation. Also, it is an old building, and the airco went out one night, which was fine, it was cool enough that night, they gave us a great fan immediately, and it was fixed the next day, but if that goes on for any length of time in the summer, it could be a problem.
