The staff is incredible—friendly, helpful and prompt to fulfill requests. Our room was gorgeous. And large!
The location is so convenient: we walked nearly everywhere, and the subway is right around the corner, too. MOMA is two and a half blocks away, and there are fresh croissants across the street. What more could you want?

Nice size room and bathroom for a city hotel. Location was perfect.
Bar and common area needs an update, the bright lights of the outside street vendor needs to be shaded or blocked out.

Great location, spacious room, very friendly & helpful stuff.
Urgently in need of renovation, no coffee making amenities (only upon availability when you arrive). They demand 100$/night guarantee upon arrival without any prior notice. Poor breakfast, not worth spending on it.

The staff are superb - everyone is friendly and helpful. The location is convenient. The rooms are big enough to not feel cramped. Everything is clean. It has an old world, Italianate luxury and hasn't been remodelled to be just another cookie cutter boring design.
Because I made the reservation through Booking.com, they weren't able to extend my stay by a day when I was already there. I had to go and make a separate additional booking.com booking for another night-- meaning I had to check out and then check in again.

Nice location, friendly staff and enjoyed the European style of furniture on the hallways and in the room.
Very reasonably priced was a plus.
Breakfast was not included or an option for a fixed price, light breakfast.

It was a bit dated and shabby- furniture, etc. looked worn, which made the entire place feel very dated.

The hotel is undeniably beautiful, comfortable, and very well located. The rooms are spacious, though somewhat limited in natural light.
It would have been great to have a kettle as the weather was really cold.
Regrettably, while the physical aspects of the property were positive, the service experience did not meet the standard one would expect. After a pleasant welcome upon arrival, the attentiveness of the reception staff diminished, and our inquiries often seemed to be treated as inconveniences.

When i was checking in i paid my deposit in Cash, there was a snow storm so i had to check out 1 day earlier to catch a flight and around 6:00AM so they told me the cash register doesn’t open before 7:30 AM and that they will send me a cheque in Mail in maximum 2 weeks, its been almost 4 weeks now and nothing came in the Mail. I tried calling multiple times and every time a different answer and nobody knows what’s happening and now suddenly its 6-8 weeks. So basically I stayed 1 less day because if the storm and i didn’t get my security deposit and neither did they followed what they told me that they would do. Very disappointed

We have booked the grand suite, but the property feels old now. It really does feel like it needs a proper refurbishment although I’m sure that would be exceptionally expensive. The grand suite that we had had an issue with the Heating such that turning it on made exceptionally loud in the evening whilst even when it was off, it was still whistling. We did enquire about changing rooms but the other ground suite was even noisier with the wind. I’m sure it would be a very expensive job to replace all of the Heating units as well as some of the windows, but do feel that the hotel would benefit from this.
