Pleasant
- location is great. very cool area with lots of bars and life, close to a park and close to subway that goes straight to the middle of manhatten!
-The amosphere of the hotel lobby was great
- the room was noisy (not outside but towards the other rooms)
- it was dirty
- 2 waiters were rude
- 'free' breakfast was quite limited in choice
- minibar was not refilled
=> for the price I expected better service

Disappointing
The staff at the reception was very friendly and nice. For breakfast they were very slow and super complicated as in where you could sit as a hotel guest.. the room was absolute terrible! never ever have I stayed in such a small room, and i come from living in the city and having travel to enough busy cities and small hotels. But this was next level, on the 2nd floor with absolute no natural light and very bad indoor lighting. The bed was old and terrible squicky and the bathroom not really clean (hair on the floor). the room was an absolute disappointment!!!
Staff at the reception was very friendly and the design of the hotel is nice. Obviously also the location is superb!

Good
Location
Friendly and helpful front desk staff
Hotel Guests are not allowed to have breakfast at the cafe-rest area at the front section. I was told to have breakfast at the back/ main restaurant area. The ambiance of the entrance space was one of the reasons why o chose the hotel for the second time - after my 18 nights stay in January 2026. Also, although the rest/ cafe menu items were slightly changed/ updated compared to my previous stay back in January, the food, both presentation and taste ( and value for money ) wise was much much better back them compared to this stay.

I like the history of the hotel as well as all the old details, the fireplace, brass fixtures. The rooms are small & the elevator is slow. But the people and the food were fabulous. I Love the lobby, the seating and nooks, small tables by the fire. Scrumptious breakfast that comes from an actual kitchen, lovely smiling faces & Washington Square Park incredibly close, one block. I Love the neighborhood. Great lil stay.
One particular waitress was not so kind.
